russia would never have been able to push the germans back if it wasn’t for the mostly american lend lease. we provided transportation, heavy industry, restarted your air force, protected the convoys that shipped the hundreds of thousands of tons of supplies to the ussr. while it’s true the bulk of the suffering was perpetrated on the eastern front, it the american industry that allowed stalin to regroup and recover his forces.

@@sam5176 I am not Russian, just read Germans books on the topic, which were not propaganda. It only helped to win faster, USSR would suffer more losses and would take whole Europe in 1946 - that is the only reason why USA made the invasion, so that communism would not reign in whole Europe. The true help would have been, if the USA would have made the landing in 1943 ( they did not because they are cowards and Germans were strong at that time). Ultimately 27 000 000 of Russians fell, in contrast to 300 000 USA soldiers(90% of fighting still on East, because they were few soldiers in comparison to East). We could talk about the numbers and see the help was good to have but not decisive. The biggest help was Intel - USSR received what was planned by Germans at Kursk 1943, that prevented more manpower to be lost. USA were cowardly during WW2, sending things, but no manpower, only when they realized USSR could conquer the whole of Europe. Shame on USA.

@@Eternity_to_Eternity i implore you to do more reading than whatever sources you’re gathering now. i don’t think you also understand how vital that industry was for getting the soviet war machine back up and running. also while on the topic, the soviets purposefully halted their offensive into poland so that the nazis could suppress the warsaw uprising. and when the soviets re-entered polish territory, they weren’t much better than the nazis they had just expelled. you soviet apologists make me fucking sick. the usa wasn’t good, and you’re right about them invading to prevent the spread of communism throughout most of europe. that doesn’t take away from the fact that we were supplying the massive russian war machine. without our support, the pincer move on stalingrad would have never come to fruition. you look at casualties and think that’s all that matters. a large portion of those casualties are because of the sheer violence and cruelty perpetrated by the germans and later the soviets.

​@sam5176 I agree. My grandfather fought on the Eastern front 1941/1942. He told that they were winning every battle against the Russians until military supply by the Americans reached. He said after the Russian got ammunition from the Americans the whole russian front revived. In winter 1941/1942 he has been injured by a shrapnel and thanks good he survived as he has been sent back to Germany. The travel by train from the Eastern front back to Germany took 2 months.

You underestimate the power of lies and deceit. The German people follow Herr Hitler because he promised them wealth and power, the lies is sold to every man, women and children, and whoever disobey, get killed offscreen with no fanfare, no story, nothing to be remember about or a warning to heed. It is a nationalistic state, where the state is above the people, and so, the people should forget about their own business when the state calls for duty, or face the consequences.
