Cutting the tension - Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

What are you doing?... Cutting the tension . . . . . . . www.dailymotion.com/video/x2pclcy vimeo.com/127098069
Gus who likes math should've kept track of every time he swipped it and gave us an average on the original one
I like how this became obsolete before it even released.
People talked about this as though it was a crazy idea that would never happen, but now Apple pay has come and proved how good of an idea this really was.
Before Apple Pay I thought this was fucking crazy. Now I realize how fucking stupid this was lol
Product placement moment
Lol the time capsule episode really stands out when you don’t put it in context 😂
So they made a wallet you have to charge.
This is literally like an early version of apple/google pay 💀😭
I rewatch this compilation every few years
Thanks
It's amazing how many novel ideas and inventions of convenience art blown out of the water by "What if your thing, but on your phone?"
In some ways this thing was ahead of the curve just done in a bad way. Apple/Google Pay basically perfected it
Don't get them started on vessel
good times man
This feels like such outdated technology 😆
going back and watching all the old but gold eps
I like to imagine Gus and Burnie are just quickly changing clothes while the camera is cut away
The end of this video made me think my phone broke
Man, I remember listening to the Coin saga week by week as the podcast came out. Any old timers remember when the podcast VOD on RUclips was delayed by a week?
Those were the days!!
Why the fuck would you need 8 credit cards
The fact we have 8 banks to get cards from
The coin, aka, apple wallet but with swipe, a feature no one uses anymore
7 years later and it’s such a shit idea
Remember when they just posted video podcasts and you didn't have to pay money to watch them?
I remember when they posted video podcasts.
I just realized this was literally just Google/Apple/Samsung pay
god damn i miss burnie 🥺
You should update this. Coin didn't just "fail". They were bought out by Fitbit and Fitbit cancelled the card immediately and did nothing with the brand. Seems like one brand buying another to stump competition.
It really felt like a “oh shit this might pop off! Let’s buy it!” Oh no it’s bad, okay well cancelled and refund money who cares.
Burnie: It's not crowdfunding. A crowd funded the project but it's not crowdfunding.
Gus is such a Whiney bitch
Editing sucked. Stick to the progression of the story next time
Bro this video is 8 years old😂
Coin Announces Official Shutdown of All Product Services Coming February 28 Wednesday February 1, 2017
I remember this kick-started I wish it was a way to see every time they talk about it in the past
2 things. I remember this product vaguely, I pretty sure the main problem was its coding. It couldn't switch between cards and would often glitch between cards making it so it wouldn't work. Last thing, work on your editing, it was ok, but it could definitely be better.
Sometimes you see something way ahead of its time. Coin card was like 20 years too late
Will ain't lying about that. There was a lot of tension between uncle Phil and Ashley
Crowd-funding for Coin: $$$$ Crowd-funding for Rooster Teeth: *torches and pitchforks*
between this and the vessyl all i gotta say is just stop being fucking hipsters.
How was this hipster? Most of the world is going towards carrying less around. Obviously tech advanced alongisde this like Apple Pay and other digital wallets (which large parts of the world use or their own countries equivalent).I think Europe currently had an actual working version of Coin called the Curve. The US is generally behind the curve on adopting new stuff.
@@bluescluessuperagent It was hipster because it’s some shitty start up company going “oh look at this cool new thing give us money” literally no one buys shit like that other than hipsters
@@notliterallyme ...except now this technology has caught on. It's used in Europe (they have a card that works) and of course our smartphones replaced the need for a physical card but the principle idea is the same
@@bluescluessuperagent this happened like 7 years ago jerkoff no shit it’s caught on now
@@notliterallyme so it's only hipster if you do it first? Has Mensa sent you an invitation yet?
I like the Fleshlight bottle opener.
I use curve card, which is basically this but ut doesnt have bluetooth or a dumb screen. I just use the app to switch what card i want the curve card to be. Very handy. I am in Europe though so maybe it doesnt work in america
6:00 Gus.exe stopped working
Damn I forgot about Brunette Barbara
It was a stupid product for stupid people, sorry. In practical terms, you don't need more than one card anyway.
Uh no. Plenty of reasons to carry multiple cards. The advent of smartphone payment systems killed it but nothing inherently wrong with it. Plenty of practical reasons to have more than 1 card on hand. Wait...don’t you fit your own criteria for getting the product?
Im going to miss burnie so much its not funny
Does coins still exist the link for me does not work
Its dead
I got a Curve card a bit ago which reminded me of this 😂
I love my curve card, at least it doesnt have the gimmick of a screen
Am I the only person shocked by how bad this is when Curve (in the UK) works perfectly.
8:20 barbara suddenly ages slightly
It's irritating that Burnie has only three options in his head. People will have Coin, apple wallet, or Google pay. And the majority option of bring a normal person and using a wallet with all your cards.
the majority now is just bringing your phone dude, everything is contactless now 🙃
@@jintie depends what country. Some places have adopted tech much faster than others. China for example. Other East Asian countries. But the US? We are pretty slow at changing (stubborn) and cash and physical credit cards are still majority. In fact some places tried to go cashless and government stepped in and blocked it. Now this was before world pandemic so that might influence how US state and city governments feel about creating a cashless society. And even then that still leaves cards vs phone. Personally I've never used my phone to pay for anything. I venmo people or use PayPal. Buy stuff on my phone but never got a digital wallet So don't act like everything is contactless lol
@@bluescluessuperagentevery country I’ve been to now is contactless
Listening to podcast 350 is hilarious since they hate the coin but talk about loving it 😂
10:23 you liar
I don't get the point of this. You can pay with your phone and have different bankacounts on your phone. And peaple always have there phone on them anyway, so why would i carry around another thing I could loose.
The coin kickstarter was in 2013, back then it wasn't common to pay with your phone, sth that changed dramatically when Apple Pay was introduced a year later and with Android Pay in 2015. The "coin" service shut down in 2017. This video is also over 4 years old, not sure if you noticed ;)
Suffice to say you've been schooled by the other comment. Maybe we have too many phones and not enough deduction in society lol
@@bluescluessuperagent Wow u so smaht. Yes, less phone, more deduction... gooood point.
I think we are all forgetting the important thing here. How long will construction and the airport be going on?
Dont worry it will be done next year. Rinse and repeat every year.
I hear at the Austin Airport its endless, no matter where you go
Have you seen the construction at Jamaica Airport though?
I just saw that video the other day.
Technology crowdfunding almost never works, ive backed a few dozen creative products like books or board games and they've all been great or somewhat good. But most of the hardware ideas people have aren't possible in the way that they imagine, software is kinda 50/50 a lot of the time it turns out meh. There have been a couple of gold stars in there though. But ive never seen a hardware kickstarter go well
