Pastime Workshop
США
Добавлен 2 апр 2016
I'm Richard, for Pastime Workshop. I want to welcome you to this channel. I will be bringing you videos about woodworking and woodturning. While I get things rolling, I'll probably only get videos out every two to three weeks. But, my goal is to get upto once a week. I'm starting my workshop from scratch so the first videos will be about putting the shop together. Once I have a working shop, then I can get into the real projects I want to be doing.
Come with me on this journey, I would like the company. Go ahead and hit the subscribe button now so you don't miss any of my videos. I'll see you in the channel. Until then, have a great day and God bless.

Ep.7 VLog Monthly Update Oct-21
Просмотров 203 года назад
I give an update of what has happened through the past month of October 2021. Why I didn’t create any videos during October. And what I will be doing for the next couple of months. My apologies for not having made any videos during October. I was very busy working on non-woodworking projects around the property. And the next few months will be filled with more non-woodworking projects as I do s...

Ep.5 Auxiliary Fence for Incra LS Fence System
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.3 года назад
Video: Ep. 5 Auxiliary Fence for Incra LS Fence System Who doesn’t need and auxiliary fence for their table saw? This Auxiliary fence is built for the Incra LS Fence System which has a couple of obstacles. First of which is the arm coming off the back of the fence. This arm requires that the back portion of the fence be split. The second obstacle is that on the back side of the fence there are ...
Ep.4 Table Saw Blade Cabinet
Просмотров 993 года назад
I needed a cabinet that would keep my saw blades organized, safe from damage and easily available. My solution was a cabinet with drawers for the blades and extra room for other table saw accessories. My intent was for the cabinet to fit under the right side of the table saw. That didn’t work out but ended up with a cabinet I could also put my sanders on. The plus is more things up off the floo...
Ep.2-Adding Wings to the Planer Cart
Просмотров 2,8 тыс.3 года назад
Every so often you think of a way to improve something. Generally, this comes out of need or the desire to fix a problem. In this case it was to fix a problem. I had already built a cart for my DeWalt 735 planer knowing I may need to add wings. I built the planer cart so that the side would support the height needed for wings. What I didn’t plan on was that the metal wings made by DeWalt would ...
Ep.1-Easy Build - 4 Way Pressure Clamps
Просмотров 7 тыс.3 года назад
4-way clamps are such a helpful tool in any woodshop, everyone should have at least one set. 4-way clamp not only clamp your wood side-to-side, but they also act as cauls to help keep the edge glued boards even with each other. Before woodworkers had a Biscuit or a Domino® joiner that kept the edges aligned using cauls was the way to accomplish that. Remember, just because something isn’t the l...

This is the trailer for the Pastime Workshop woodworking channel. Come and join me as I create new projects. Woodworking and woodturning can be fun and I hope my love for woodworking shows through and that my videos enhance you life as much or more that woodworking enhances mine.
I make the same mistakes
Thanks for your video. I was also looking to make a planer cart for the 735 and I wanted extension wings
if you use shims and narrow wedges as needed under the top bar for fine adjustment to flush up board edges. the underside (your good side) will be force to flush up to the lower bar.
i have read some bad reviews on rockler about these clamps as being light duty and the screw to tighten them strips,,,what do you think about them now and have you used them alot
Haven't used alot but they have worked well for me. I don't believe they are intended for commercial or industrial use. Also keep in mind that while they have some clamping ability the main use for these is to keep panel glue ups straight across grain. Not for putting the pressure that may be required to make a tight seal on some badly milled boards. Clamp up your glue up with these clamps and add standard clamps for the pressure.
Nice design, but please LOSE THE MUSIC, it adds nothing but annoyance. Bevels on the inside of the aux fence would ease dropping it onto the fixed fence. The drawback to such a tight front edge is that it can quickly build up sawdust that can throw off your cut, though as you say it's useful for thin stock.
Thanks for the input and you make some great observations about the design.
Hi, glad YT suggested this to me. Thanks for sharing. A couple of suggestions: buy or make a center finding jig. They're easy to make, a scrap of board, three drilled holes, two short dowels and a pencil. Look up "center finding jig" in YT if you have any questions - there's scads of videos on them out there. Second suggestion after you have established the center line would be to mark off the 2" separation with a compass or dividers.
Great suggestions Kris. Thanks
This is a great video. Thank you. I love the idea of putting Formica on the wings. Helped me solve an issue I was having in planning my own cart!
Thanks Owen and glad to hear it helped you out.
Great video keep up the great work I'm thinking about doing something very similar
Thank Shawn. I believe you will find that snip will be pretty much eliminated. Since I put the wings on I change the head to a helical head and the resulting cut is fantastic.
Thanks. I've been wanting to build some of those and thanks to you I know Rockler sells the hardware and you showed a great way to build them.
I so glade this was beneficial to you. One of the nicest things is that you can make the stretchers as short or long as you like. And thanks for subscribing too.
Maybe a follow-up showing the clamps in use, enjoyed the video
Good idea! I'll show that when I have my next panel glue-up.
Hope you enjoy the video. I'm just getting started and would appreciate any constructive feedback. Please subscribe and hit the bell so your notified when I post new videos.
