The Orchestra Reel
Some work I did on Mikey Hill's "The Orchestra" animation.
1) In-between animation, clean up and coloring done in TVPaint
2) Background Character animation done in TVPaint
3) Post-production work: adjusting After Effects files for consistency (e.g. color and light effects, shadows) and later, rendering.

The Earthlings are created as simple puppets rather than hand-drawn animation (like Cthulhu or the Princess). The characters and background graphics were made in Photoshop, imported into After Effects and then animated in parts before being comped together.

He lives in Magic Land, where the Beautiful creatures reign, and the Ugly ones always end up as prank fodder. What happens when the Beautiful push the Ugly just a little too far?

man I dunno how this slipped its way back into my recommended but i remember watching this when I was like 10 and the biggest thing I remember is the scene at 0:37 was mostly a lonely child and I could really empathise with him, he just wanted to play in peace, or have a friend :(
