Moose Encounter in Algonquin Provincial Park, Ontario
Camping in the back country of Algonquin Provincial Park next to a marsh, we encountered moose every day in the mornings and evenings. This particular encounter was the closest one - while I was adjusting the tent tarp I heard crashing and splashing through the marsh at the very back of our campsite. I knew either a bear or moose was close, so we quietly went to inspect what it was. When we confirmed it was a moose, I scurried back to the tent to grab the camera and crawled as close as I felt comfortable to take this video.

I did this swim stupidly, without goggles or flippers about 13 years ago. I just about died coming up. I was inches from smashing my head off the side of the escarpment being pushed by waves. Going back all I could see was bubbles. My teenage self felt invincible. Beautiful area though and I'm excited to bring my kids one day when they are old enough.

Thanks! I was experimenting with my GoPro edits. The problem with the canoe video I have is that it's a bit too shaky so doing a time lapse solves that issue. Some of them still do. There are at least two mains kinds. One kind does the regular round of trips. The other kind (marked by a pair of chimney-like humps) is designated for picking up passengers directly from international arrival flights.

Toronto issues a new set of bunker gear every 5 years. Bunker gear has to be taken out of service after 10 years so this allows each firefighter to have 2 sets of bunker gear. The colour changes with each issue. This makes it easy when it comes time to take bunker gear out of service at the 10 year mark, they know to take all of the yellow or all of the orange.
