The TGV: BEST Way to Travel from PARIS to MONTPELLIER Sud de France
After taking a ten-hour overnight Flixbus from Montpellier in the South of France to Paris, we return on the TGV, France's famous high-speed train. This is by far the best, most comfortable way to travel on public transport in France. I did a video previously showing a first class TGV seat, and this time I'm travelling with Fiona in second class.
In this video you'll get to see Paris's Gare de Lyon (the main Paris station that serves the South of France) the inside of the train, views of Paris from the train's window, the seats, the toilets and the Sud de France TGV station in Montpellier.

What's the FLIXBUS to PARIS really like? 10 hours overnight!

Following on from the last video, in which I endured a 31-hour return journey on a Flixbus from Montpellier in the south of France to Cologne in Germany, this time I opted for a slightly more gentle trip. Fiona and I took a Flixbus to Paris just before Christmas, an overnight trip of "only" ten hours from Montpellier. I show you everything about it, including boarding, the seats, charging facil...

14 hours there, 17 hours back. I took a return Flixbus from Montpellier in the south of France to Cologne in the west of Germany to experience the cheapest way to travel long distance in Europe. The cost may be low, but is it worth saving money to spend so long on the road? I show you the inside of the coach, the seats, the toilets, the charging points and what it's really like to sleep on a Fl...

One of the most ecologically-minded metropolitan areas in the country, Montpellier is a standard for green urban planning which offers a unique blend of town and country for residents. What to do in Montpellier on a budget - climbing Pic Saint Loup, getting there by bus

#budgettravel #francetravel #montpellier Continuing with the theme of budget travel activities in France, Fiona and I decided to take the bus to Pic Saint Loup, the famous mountain just north of Montpellier. It may only have cost €2 each way, but heavy rain and Fiona's level of fitness made for a tough day. Amazing views from the top, though. Hope you enjoy the video! Toujours sur le thème des ...

CYCLING from Montpellier to Palavas! 19km ride in 33 degree heat - the paths, the beach, the town

After travelling first class on the TGV last week, I decided to keep this week's video closer to home and cycled from Montpellier in the south of France to Palavas-les-Flots, one of the largest beach resorts near the city. It's a ride of over 18km in a temperature of 33°C, so getting in the sea at the end was awesome. You'll see shots of this busy seaside resort as well - the beach, the apartme...

Thanks for the video. OuiGo (Not to be confused with InOui) is very much the budget version of the TGV and the amount of luggage you are allowed onboard is limited unless you pay a supplement. That supplement is however only about 5 euro and enables you to bring a medium sized suitcase. The space for larger luggage is though limited and the overhead racks are too small for anything other than hand luggage. Larger luggage racks are generally available at the ends of the carriages. My recent experience of OuiGo from Lille to Marseilles and back is that they are very popular and can get crowded. Arriving at the station in good time is therefore recommended (Joining at the start of the line in Lille or Marseilles the time it takes to walk the length of the train to your carriage can take time and with luggage space is at a premium it may be full). For 29 euro each way (Bought well in advance when SNCF were offering special fares, the cost was excellent though. (Journey time about 4.5 hours) The WiFi onboard is also much better than on UK Trains!
Thanks so much for this! I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye on the SNCF sales from now on. Sometimes their fares are crazy-cheap.
y a un bus pour aller au centre ville t inquiete oas mon loulou on et pas des sauvage a montpellier
Je n'avais pas la force d'attendre le bus enfin. J'ai pris un Uber 😁
I did a 10 hr Flix at 62 in Eastern Europe. 200 lbs, 5 10,not in great shape. IT'S NOT UNDOABLE. Read, taLK, use google translate if you have to - if they have wifi. The money saved is well worth it. I don't think your baggage is ever stolen but I always eyeballed every stop. We stopped for LUNCh at the greatest lamb restaurant in Serbia which I never would have found on my own. I HEARTILY endorse FLIX.
Yeah, it's not all bad. It's just so long! I think I'm going to start looking for cheap flights for the next video, to be honest...

@makeandcode Thanks! I think this might be the end of the Flixbus "adventures," to be honest. It's pretty brutal.

Hardcore coach journey - not sure I could do that!
As long as you're ready for it, it's fine. I really wasn't prepared at all.
@AuSud-qi5nr and, like you say, so much cheaper than other modes of transport. Great video - enjoyed watching.
@@zoeg5603 Thanks! x
Damn. Mexico busses are better than that shit. And they're a bit crap too
It was hard work, yeah. Cheap, though.
Brilliant intro

T'as un cancer de la gorge toi ou bien.....
Very cool channel, looking forward to more content about cheap things to do in the city and underrated locations!
It's coming! Really trying to make time to do the next video (which is about a bus ride to Cologne), but I'll do another Montpellier video after that.
Sympa la video, metci pour le partage👍
Absolutely loved this. Definitely up for the graffiti video <3
I'll do it soon!
At 11:00, the people you saw wearing red and white in the cafe car are surely going to Bayonne next to Biarritz for the Bayonne festival which occur every summer for several days and nights. It's always packed with a lot of young people (wearing red and white for the occasion) drinking all the time, so it's really famous and a period to avoid. I think it can explain why there was so many people during your TGV trip between Bordeaux and Biarritz
How available is water for the allotments? Is it from wells? Or collected rainwater?
I assume it's just mains water, although I don't know.
Gorgeous Montpellier. Very cool about the green council 💚 Looking forward to visiting again soon!
Was amazing to see you! xxx
@AuSud-qi5nr you all too 😽
Please do use a better maps app, like Iphigénie, or whatever you like... But not google maps, it's not made for hiking, it's not clear and sometimes dangerous.
@@mauricioamf Yep, definitely not going to do that again. Will check out Iphigénie, thanks.

Great mood music. Have driven past it many a time, but never bothered with the climb.
Thanks! Honestly, on a clear day the views from the top would be fantastic. It was pretty steep at the top, though. Fiona had a tough time.
My daughter lives in Montpellier. 100 m from the sea. I subscribed to your channel today. I like it. I will come to Montpellier in winter. Greetings from Thailand
My daughter also lives in Montpellier. I live in Thailand and am married here. But I come to Germany and Montpellier in winter. Greetings from Chonburi
Thank you, friend. Hope you enjoy the rest of the videos and that you're having a nice winter in Europe!
Never buy food in a train, overpriced crap is what they sell, buy it either earlier in a store nearby the station or even in a vending machine
Why leave the glorous sunshine to come to rainy uk
I do this everytime I come ton Montpellier (using a VeloMagg). It's pretty cool
@@azertycraftgaming I love it!
Loved this! such amazing scenery :)
Shoutout from Aigues Mortes. Did you already visit this town ?
Not yet! It's on the list, though.
I recommend to turn to the right before entering palavas to go to maguelone cathedral, there the beaches are much better
Will definitely try that next time. Thanks!
Very cool. Particularly liked the bit where you got in the sea 🙂
I see no whales.

Great video. Your voice is unique. Much more bass then I expected. Sounds liked you took some sulfur hexafluoride. Then later the bass drops out from the video.

Me too! Honestly didn't think I was going to be able to get back on the same day. Think I arrived in Montpellier at about 11pm...
montpellier to st malo is about 900kms but do it over 2 days the service runs in the morning about 10am french time and return it leaves about 20.15hrs overnight gets in about 0745am french time
Thanks for the tip. Will definitely look at that next time (if there is a next time...).
if going to montpellier go on ferry from portsmouth to st malo overnight from portsmouth or by day from st malo
great ferries i use them about 50 times a year on all routes being a truck driver better than driving fromm calais to spain ps you have also ferries from santander to plymouth and portsmouth
I really enjoyed it, to be honest. Would definitely use them again if we need to.
France is actually sensible not catering for vegetarians and vegans in a big deal. I find it ridiculous folks going into a steakhouse and wanting vegan stuff.
Well, if they'd had literally one meal without animal products in it, I would have bought it. I'm not paying nearly ten euros for beans on toast.
Consider it looked at it. Cheaper to fly and hire a car.
Ah, we were there for three weeks and there were five of us, so hiring a car would have cost a fortune (also we couldn't get cheap flights). We've done it both ways, and this way works out cheaper for us. Helpfully, our car's clutch exploded when we got off the ferry on the way back, which was fantastic. Swings and roundabouts.
Not to bad vidio, but not to good musica
