Dude, this neighborhood is the typical Brazilian middle class neighborhood, it's not modern as you stated. I don't mean to say it's not nice, but I was expecting a much more modern area as some of Sao Paulo. That is a typical middle class area, not exactly modern, not fancy, just average. You should some of the fancy areas of the Sao Paulo, they are really impressive.

Cidade meio que fantasma. Ngm anda na rua. Nao é caminhável. Sem fachada ativa. Dependente de carros. Em questao de urbanismo, um desastre.
Depende. Em alguns desses bairros, a zona comercial está a uma distância caminhável das quadras residenciais. E o morador pode ter atendida 80% de sua demanda por serviços nessas quadras em que vai caminhando. Apesar da imagem de cidade fantasma, Brasília foi umas das cidades brasileiras em que mais caminhei para esses fins. O que precisar ser feito fora dessas quadras, realmente, o jeito mais fácil é pegar um carro. Com a vantagem que a zona central tem transito livre comparado com outras metrópoles latinoamericanas. Enfim, acredito que o dia a dia em Brasília surpreende positivamente. Ps. O bairro do vídeo é um bairro ainda em construção, o que pode ter acentuado a imagem de "fantasm". cara, meu sonho seria ter aqueles prédios quadrados que aparecem no vídeo, com comércio no térreo, concentrando 4 deles em uma quadra de 120x120, com corredores de ônibus norte-sul e leste-oeste a cada 400m.

Thank you for the video. I've heard the Carrasco was settled by British settlers to Uruguay and the people that live there now are descended from those original settlers. I noticed some of the houses there had houses that would not look out of place in the UK. Would like to visit Uruguay and will come to this area if I do.

Noroeste is a new neighborhood, but because it is in Brasília's pilot plan, it has this different characteristic. The buildings have pilotis where people move freely, and have no more than 6 floors (7 including duplex penthouses). This makes the sky always visible. All that blue looks really nice.
