I visited Cancun during the COVID-19 pandemic and I will tell you if it's safe, if you should consider traveling to the destination and what happens if you get sick during your stay.
I want to travel end f July what do you think?
As you can see, summer is hurricane season, which increases the likelihood of being affected by a hurricane like Hurricane Beryl, which just happened in the Caribbean. If you travel in the summer, there's no safe bet on which month is better, to be honest. Just follow your instincts and always book refundable fares whenever possible.
How’s the weather in December??? Looking to go first week of December
Hurricane season ends in November, so December weather is typically warm and pleasant.
How's the weather in June?? Plan on going the 19th through the 23rd!
usually pretty calm and hot, just expect rainfall on a cloudy day as it usually comes out of nowhere, but it usually lasts less than 15 minutes

November is the end of hurricane season, so you'll be fine travelling then. Safe travels!

What about the first weeks in june?
June is the beginning of hurricane season but if you go in the first weeks you will be fine. Check the weather about 2-3 weeks before your trip. Safe travels!

How will the weather be early July ?
Hurricane season is between June and November. Weather tends to be very good but hurricanes are always a possibility. Check the weather about 2-3 weeks before your trip. Safe travels!

Weather is very unpredictable in Cancun. Even if you see rain daily in the forecast, it might last 30 minutes and then you have a full day of sun! Safe travels!

What about October
Hurricane season lasts until the end of November. The chance you get caught during a hurricane is minimum, but something to keep in mind always. Safe travels!

Hurricane season starts by mid Agust. Weather in Cancun changes constantly so be sure to check the weather before you travel. Hurricanes are not that frequent during August but each season changes a lot. Safe travels!

@@naomimacias7367 I think there's very little chance for you to get bad weather around that season, unless there's a hurricane or tropical storm and those are not that frequent so don't worry too much about it! Safe travels!

It is difficult to say because tropical storms and hurricanes are very random. Just check the weather a couple of days before your trip so you know for sure. Safe travels!
I want to travel Sept 10-16, would it be better to go to Los Cabos?
If you want to reduce the risk of a Hurricane ruining your vacations, then Los Cabos is a better choice. Safe travels!
Do you think it’s a good idea to be in Cancun between 3 and 11 september 2021 ? should we cancel our reservation? it is a reservation for March 2020 but which has been postponed several times because of the covid ... we are very worried, after checking the weather predictions for the next 2 weeks. Weather in September is unpredictable. I've been in Cancun several times in September and never experienced a hurricane. If you decide to travel just keep in mind that a hurricane is a possibility. Safe travels!

Great video but what about the average folks living in regular apartments and not resort hotels? Do we take the initiative to head to a hurricane shelter ourselves ?
That depends on the hurricane intensity. You should definitely seek for shelter if the authorities suggest to do so. Keep an eye on the local news to know what to do. Stay safe!
🌀 8/17/2021 Hurricane Grace is approaching the Cancun area right now. It's forecasted to be a category 1 hurricane when making landfall. Good luck, Cancun.
It turned out to be a tropical storm by the time it arrived here so we were spared… for now!
🌬8/23/2021 Invest98L just rolled of the coast of Africa and could develop. September is the peak month for hurricane activity.

Weather in the Mayan Riviera is usually very unpredictable. You can certainly expect rain at any point but it comes and goes in a few hours unless a tropical storm is coming. But in normal weather conditions, rain doesn't last much. Safe travels!

Why people confuse playa mujeres with Cancún?🙄🙄🙄🙄 Even the name is saying mujeres 🙄🙄 duh, this hotel is located in the continental zone of isla mujeres not Cancún
We are booked for November 2021. How are things looking now and what do you expect for November?
It's hard to say since COVID has been really unpredictable. What we've seen this year is that tourist destinations in Mexico are not doing full lockdowns, even when the cases had spiked from time to time. Safe travels!

@@thehugobuzz Day #3 and so far so good. The resort is taking the appropriate precautions and most people are abiding by any rules. The weather is magnificent. The ocean is warm. We are here for 2 weeks total. Unless something major changes between now and your departure it should be fine.

Good video. I want to visit Cancun in September but indecisive due to hurricane season. This helps me decide.
I have traveled to Cancun several times in September and this was the first time I experienced a tropical storm. It's uncertain to say if you will catch one, but if you have bad luck, you could end up in a shelter in the worst case scenario. Safe travels!
What capacity is the hotel at now? Looking to go in August 2021.
Right now hotels in the Mayan Riviera are at 50 percent capacity. They had an increase on Covid cases that I'd think it'll be lower by August. Safe travels!
Thanks for the video, very informative. They promote no green fees for the golf course, but I read that there is a ‘mandatory cart fee’ of $89 US. Do you know what the cost is for golf if you’re staying at the resort? Thanks.
I haven't played golf at the resort so I am unable to help. If you call to the resort they'll surely clarify this for you. Safe travels!
Are the swim out rooms right next to other people rooms ? Meaning when your in your swim out can you see others people next to you ? Or is it actually private to just your room
Yes, from the swim-out pools you can see other people. Pools are actually shared with the rooms next to you. Safe travels!

It is amazing! It's also great empty if you are looking for a relaxing vacation!

Yes, it is! Just as almost every beach in the Mayan Riviera.

We stayed at Haven this past December and it was well worth it. Simply breathtaking. Six days plus is a must.

How was the seaweed in December?
@@christiankellyrealtor there was some seaweed present and they had their staff cleaning up daily. Rain storms tend to kick up the seaweed washing on shore.
@@luisf4077 my wife and I typically spend all of our time on the beach. Love the videos of the resort but the beach has me a little concerned.
@@christiankellyrealtor I totally understand. It may be worth looking further south towards Puerto Moreles or playa del Carmen
If you're considering a visit to Mexico, Huatulco is absolutely worth checking out. With secluded resorts, secret beaches, plenty of waterfalls, coffee plantations and one of the best places in to the world to watch baby turtles hatch, you definitely won't run out of things to do here!
You are right, Huatulco is not a popular destination such as Cancun o Los Cabos but it's definitely worth it!

Nice review! We used to go to the Iberostar Grand every year (other than this year) for my birthday, but am thinking about this resort instead next year. The mixologist at the Lime Bar looks like Eduardo who used to work there, but I thought he moved to a resort south of there.

We went two years ago when they just opened for two weeks in March. It was to say the breathtaking. Like now it was at 30% occupancy and we had a swim out room. Guys give your girl a swim out you wont regret it. The food the staff all super amazing. Biggest draw back was the night entertainment - really really need to build on that aspect. Another draw back are excursions or going into the city. Expensive and excursions are super far away - plan on 4-5 hours just spent on the bus for the day. A cab into the city was $80 U.S huge ouch and they give you just 3 hours to shop. Sorry can't use local taxi Haven only allows their taxi's into the resort. One week for this resort is plenty - two weeks you do start get board especially because everything is so far away and basically after dinner there is nothing to do on the resort. The night show they have in the dance lounge were not great - very poorly planned. There was no wow factor in the shows and only lasted an hour. So by 8PM your basically left with nothing more to do. Very bad planning on their part for keeping guest entertained. The massive resort next to us apparently had super amazing evening shows every single night. Even a massive fully out Mexican night from food to the show. Something Haven really stays away from showing the local culture. No Mexican night or show. The steak restaurant is worth it - the Asian one not really. We had most meals by week two at the steak house. If your looking for a resort that is more relaxing then entertaining this is it. Just have get use to nothing being close at all. During our two weeks the outside bar and music stage was never open and same with the evening. Just as mentioned in this video not open??? Why?? I have traveled to Mexico the past 14 years - many resorts - this one massive wow factor looks wise - however super super calm. I would say a 6 out of 10. Well that's my brief thought on Haven.

We are going at the end of July with a big group of people 8 to 16 people. How is the music at the pool? If there a night life like a club? Your video was great but you only showed us 2 restaurants. How is the food at all the restaurants? Thank you again!
Hello Steven. There is a nightclub but at least during my trip, it was closed because of COVID. The music at the pool is not very loud, but also I think it was because of the low occupation (under 30%). The two restaurants I mentioned were the ones I liked the most but all the dining options are of very good quality, including breakfast and lunch. Just beware that at least right now with the COVID measures, Haven is not a "party like crazy" kind of resort. It's better if you check with the hotel the amenities available before you travel so you won't get disappointed. Safe travels!

The beach is the best!
You shouldn't be forced to vaccine to travel the world it belongs to all of us we are all human beings no matter what country your from the whole planet is ours to share we all own it not individual governments and corporations you should be able to travel freely wherever you please

Hi Steven! As most of the resorts in Cancun, the use of masks is suggested but not mandatory. So you will see actually very few guests using them inside the property. Safe travels!

I would never want to visit a resort this empty ! To quiet and boring without other guests.
Ha ha I hear you man! Actually hotels in Cancun are receiving up to 60% of their capacity so I was surprised that Haven was operating only at 30% of its capacity.
@@travels1017 we are going to the Cancun area end of April. We will look to stay at one of the more popular resorts to assure things aren't totally dead.
April is a very nice month to go to Cancun, and probably things will be more loose regarding COVID. Safe travels!
It just comes down to what's important for you. If you want to party and excitement, there are better options elsewhere. If decompressing is what you desire, this place is the spot. Nothing like feeling as though you own the beach, have lush landscapes around you, and not having to deal with crowds for anything. It is a hike though to go into downtown.
I like a relaxed vacation, so this is a good option.

I stayed there when it first opened and it was empty like your video. We stayed 3 years later and it was packed. Still one of the BEST resorts anywhere. This was the ONLY Secrets I stayed at and it was far better than other chains.
I agree. Even though it may not compare to other Secrets Resorts, this one offers excellent quality at affordable rates. It is a "must" in Huatulco.
