Morning Mike My pergola is in shape of triangle and the canopy over last 10 years has completely filled in. How much should I cut it back to allow air circulation? I made mistake of planting 8 seeds at the base wrapping it around and old metal pipe that was a laundry line. The blooms were prolific hanging down in May/June but my concern at this time is how much should I thin out the canopy so light and air can freely filter through. I would like to send you a few pics so you see what I do and can offer best advice. Let me know how best to do that, please. Thank you kindly Mike!! Donna B from Mass, USA

Love your video on “Pruning Wisteria “. However this was on an established plant. I have just planted a young plant. There is a lot of growth going on.How do you prune a young plant, how many (if more than one) leaders do you keep ? Many thanks.

I bought those sticky paper insect traos. They seem to have been working great! I also picked out all the weevils i found. A couple of years later and they seem to be under control. ( now I've jinxed it) this is a good reminder to get out there and put some more sticky traps out there and check my plants

Here in Canada, they are called Coral Bells. Today, I accidentally discovered that they are also known as Heuchera. I've had mine for over 10 years. Every winter some die and so I try to replenish them by collecting their seeds at the end of summer and starting new seedlings from seed in the spring. Now that I have invested into some grow lights, I am having easier time getting the seeds to germinate. Today, Feb. 24, some of the baby leaves are already about the size of a nickel. Had I known that the old plants can be divided and replanted, I would have saved myself all the trouble of growing them from seed.

Don't forget to pollenate the silks. If you're relying on wind in a small garden, your corn will likely be missing a lot of kernals.
