Thanks, my guy. Great information here.
Thanks, my guy. Great information here.
Good honest vid about the stock photography game. Stock photography as a part of other streams of income is a great idea. As a sole source of income, it will have you quitting within a month.
Her face when she said "Great" when you said you had two of em
Hey Matt, does it overheat at all in 4k120 or 4k60? Also, how's the dynamic range? I I wonder if it’s as good as the C80.
Wife or girlfriend? Seriously where is the ring???????
Ha! Wife of 14 years. She just wasn't wearing her ring at that moment haha.
which sites have worked well for you?
In my experience, I've had more sales on Shutterstock but less money and less sales on Adobe Stock but more money.
Just subscribed!
Honestly I do dig doing stock photography. Sometimes waiting on a site to approve photos can be ridiculous
I hear ya! I've had some get approved in a day, some in 2 weeks. No rhyme or reason.
How does the R1 clog2 video compare to the C70 clog2 footage? Be brutally honest about it.
@@contentm3893 Thanks for the question! So far, I still prefer the C70. Full disclosure, I use the C70 for almost all of my video shooting so I don’t feel I’ve compared it to the R1 enough to make any definitive statements. I will say, however, that the R1’s AF when shooting video definitely seems to outperform the C70 when it comes to sports. Looking forward to putting the R1 through more tests on the video side.
@@AllAspectsAllAngles I wonder how the R1 compared to the C80 AF. Also, let me know if the video files seem to hold more data or dynamic range and if you have more latitude with the R1 vs C70. When I went from the R3 from the R5 I could tell a big difference in image quality and just don't know if the R1 is a big jump up from the R3.
I just subbed ...
Hey I have a question. I uploaded some videos of a chef making some food at a restaurant where they make food in front of you. The video got approved and is posted. I never got a signed agreement from the chef who is in the video. Can I be sued by the Chef or by the restaurant (their name isn't visible) if they happen to see the video online? On the other hand, they do know that when you prepare food in front of the diners, everybody is recording. Thanks in advance.
@@saadsalman1650 Great question! I’m not a lawyer but in my experience, if you film in a public place, there generally isn’t an expectation of privacy. If you’re in a restaurant and it’s commonplace to film the chef preparing the food, I imagine an argument can be made that, again, there isn’t an expectation of privacy. Now, can someone sue? Sure, you can sue someone for virtually anything but the chances of an individual willingly incurring thousands of dollars in legal bills over a video of them cooking are pretty slim. If anything, they’d send you a “Cease and desist” letter asking you to take it down. I received one of those before for a stock photo I posted of a resort. I just took it down and that was that. Edit: submitting as “editorial” also helps avoid this. That’s usually how I submit photos that contain recognizable people, brands, etc.
It should only be submitted + used as editorial
@@AllAspectsAllAngles that makes sense to me. Thank you for such quick and detailed response!
I'm still new to the game and one of the most exciting parts was actually seeing my picture in an article. That's happened twice now and is quite an ego boost.
@@jimpchip Congrats!!! Isn’t it fun??? That’s a great feeling. It definitely helps boost the confidence! Cheers to many many more!
I came here to learn about stock photography, and I left thinking this dude has a soothing voice. Should read out audio books.
Hahaha well thank you!!! I’ll add that to the project list!! 🤣 Thanks for checking out the video!
what an underrated channel!
@tonyfromcz1587 🙏 thank you!! I appreciate that!
Well said. I subbed before even before liking or commenting. I just decided to get into stock, so yes this video was really helpful. Thanks.
@@robertbarnes2598 Thank you!!! Welcome to the club!
Do you have any videos on how to tag or describe or title your images for maximum visibility? Is there a strategy there, or just throw everything you can think of at it? Thanks!
@@zenofthemoment Great question!! I have definitely noticed a difference in sales on photos where I maxed out the number of tags vs only used a few. That’s probably the most tedious part of the process. Use as many relevant terms as possible. Look at your photo and then put yourself in the shoes of someone looking for that photo. What would you search to find that photo?
@ Makes sense. Thank you! 🫡
Followed, you seem very down to earth, I will be in a position this year to spend 100% leisure time doing this as a hobby.
Please recommend any beginners camera and lens to start with.
Hi. Do you recommend this K&F Concept 64 inch/163cm Camera Tripod? What backpack can you recommend on Amazon that doesn't exceed the airline's size limit for taking on the plane? Thanks
@@bananaukra3235 Hey!! The K&F concept tripods are great. I actually have several K&F’s that I use for various things. For backpacks, I’ve been very pleased with the Peter McKinnon bag. It’s pricey but very durable and even the biggest size is no problem when traveling. I’ve taken it all over the world! Thanks for the questions!!
@@AllAspectsAllAngles Thanks. I have a Neewer Waterproof Camera Case Sling Backpack but as I always carry my 10-18, 18-55 and 55-250mm lenses and my Canon 550D sometimes the camera has little space. Thanks
Congratulations on your 500🎉 just subscribed and i liked what you shared. Do you have any recommendations for who to use for stock photography for a beginner? And when I say beginner I mean I am 50 and just got my first camera back in November after a lifetime of dreaming to take photos as a hobby. Your advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and keep up the good work.
@@Corona10ring Hey!! Thanks for the question. I love that you’re jumping into the photography world. It doesn’t matter when, it just matters that you’re here! One of the great things about photography! :) As far as which platform to use for beginners, they are all pretty similar but I’d probably go with Shutterstock. Their interface is pretty straight forward and easy to use.
That is sooo sick! I also got into blink in 1999 and they've been my favourite band ever since, so i know just how much that wiuld mean to you. Your photos are sick
Right on!!! It really was an awesome experience! Thanks for checking out the video. I appreciate it.
@AllAspectsAllAngles no worries, I also subbed! 👊
Thanks for tuning in, everyone! Definitely a fun experience. What’s one of the best concerts you’ve attended and/or photographed?

Happy new year!
Looks great … how did you split screen? 👍
@@alisonandguywildlifephotograph Thank you!!! To do the split screen, I just moved my adjustment layer that contained the color grade over to the right. You can do this under the effects control tab in Premiere Pro.
@@AllAspectsAllAngles I’m a noob in davinci…I suppose I can find out… hope you like r1…I got r3 ..and r5ii…to replace 1dxii …clog 2 is fab and autofocus is even better that r3…r1 af.and low light looks awesome….r3 and 1dx is better in low light than r5ii..but got it for video…r1 on wish list 😎🤓👍
Hey! Nice video! You have any tips on how to land more concert work?
Thank you!! My first tip would be to contact the venues directly, especially smaller to mid-size venues. They are often looking for photos for their socials and this can be a great way to get a photo pass. Those shoots might not be paid gigs at first but if you show the venue your value, there's a chance they will want to hire you regularly. It's a great way to build your portfolio and capture photos of both up-and-coming and more established bands. I've also had some luck contacting the band's management directly (just have to dig a bit online to find contact info).
Please keep doing videos, this camera looks amazing, thanks for sharing
It's the user not the camera. Great shoot brother.
Thank you!! I appreciate that!
If you want to get the best cleanest image out of your R1 or R3 turn on HDR PQ and edit the footage in Final Cut Pro X lifting the highlights to just under 1000 nits. The image is so good and realistic you will never go bag to shooting in raw c-log 2 again
@@kylekaiser9525 Great tip! I’ll give it a shot! Still a lot on the R1 I haven’t unpacked yet. Thanks for taking the time to comment!
Awesome. I'm renting an R1 for the weekend, and am looking forward to pitting it against the R5mk2. Word is the low light is much better. And the 4k60 should be sharper too.
How did the R1 comprehensive to the R5II?
It was what I predicted. R1 has sharper 60p and is much cleaner at iso 12,800
@@BobbyD262 Is the dynamic range the same?
Haven't tested it but it looks similar.
Awesome, thanks! Any thoughts on high-ISO? Some youtubers are claiming a very clean image at ISO 12,800 and above.
Any overheating in 120p?
I did not experience any but will keep everyone posted if I do.

How to get the picture thumbnail. That was fire
Looking forward to what your channel is going to be all about. I just got my R1 yesterday. Other than my own nerdy photography, I do sports, event and studio work for a local high school. Thus far the R1 seems to be a highly customizable R3 in a more premium and robust feeling body, with an updated AF. I have a list of reasons for upgrading but it’s funny going back and forth between the R1 and the R3 to match settings and it’s hilarious how much more “settings rich” the R1 is. I’m sure this thing will be amazing. I’m really looking forward to the basketball AF. That’s my least favorite sport to shoot due to players crossing in front of each other so much. As of today I can’t see a situation where I don’t scoop up another R1 to have two similar bodies.
Love to hear it!!! I'm about 10 shoots in with the R1 and so far, I am extremely pleased. Basketball and Volleyball specifically using the priority action feature has been a really welcomed feature. To your point, it definitely worked well with locking on a player and staying on the player no matter what goes in front of them. It's still early but so far, very happy. Thank you for watching and commenting!
would u recommend a 1dx camera as a enthusiast (i have some ef glass alrdy)
The 1DX is still a solid camera. I can't speak to MK I or MK II because I haven't used them but MK III, it's a workhorse. You can do pretty much everything with it. It's their DSLR Flagship so it's pretty much packed with everything you'd need as an enthusiast.
should use Booster for SM7B, sounds small
@@nickdual Appreciate the feedback! Will definitely take that into consideration!
My opinion is you should have skipped the unboxing video and just told your story as a photographer. Its a great story and the unboxing takes away from it. For the r1 I would rather see some sort of real world use, maybe some tips about it or things you have found quirky or interesting about the camera while using it on real professional jobs. Best of luck to you and the channel!
@@alphapyro360 hey!! Thanks for taking the time to check out the video and provide feedback. I definitely have some videos in the queue covering tips, real life experiences using the gear, etc. Stay tuned! 🫡🫡🫡
@@AllAspectsAllAngles awesome, excited to check them out!
Hi Matt! Well done on the "first" video! You look comfortable enough in front of the camera. I have questions: as you stated you're coming from 1DX Mark III bodies, you would have only used EF lenses until now. Are you adapting those lenses, or do you plan to side grade to RF lenses? Which ones were you using and which ones do you plan to switch to, if at all. Maybe that’s an idea for a future video. Cheers, Michael
Hey!! Thank you for checking out the video. I appreciate it. Great question, yes, while I have plans to add RF lenses to the kit, I don’t really have a need at the moment. With all the EF glass I’ve acquired over the years, I might as well keep using them with an EF to RF adapter. So far, I haven’t noticed any loss in functionality when using the adapter so for now, EF is good to go! You’re right, a lens video would be good. My go-to are 24-70 L f2.8 and the 70-200 L f2.8 but I have several others I use given the situation.
@ Thanks for the reply! I‘m a hobbyist shooting mostly my family. I recently switched from a 5D Mark IV to an R5, since second hand prices are finally doable for me. I‘m using adapted EF glass and it works very well for me, too. Cheers
You pirate ❗️❗️❗️ I also like the background setup 👌🏽

@@bryantrudell7947 hahaha arrrgggg. For my assigned FBI agent: I pay for the software now.

Just subscribed. I picked this bad boy up along with the C400. So far the R1 is 🔥. Looking forward to more of your video’s.

Hey bro! Nice video any chance you could share some clog2 footage from the camera? How is it?
Hey! Thanks for checking it out. Yes, I definitely can. I will post that asap!
Thanks man! How good is it?
@ So far, my mind is blown. I haven’t filmed too much with it yet but as far as photos, it’s unreal. The AF system doesn’t even seem real. It’s extremely sticky and seems to read my mind. The EVF is also INCREDIBLE. Super bright, huge and feels like I’m just watching a big TV 🤣🤣🤣.
why do you have two 80-300s ????
haha one is the 70-200 MK I and one is the 70-200 MK III. It's actually come in quite handy when I've had to shoot multi-cam in big rooms where zoom was a must.
I think there was talking in the background of that music
dammn bruh, you really live on the edge 😎
