GTAW - Identifying Contamination
This video explains some of the basics when it comes to identifying contamination of tungsten electrodes, and how to recognize if your ceramic cups, gas lens, and collet bodies are beyond repair and should no longer be used.
Examples of contamination in tungsten electrodes, ceramic cups, and gas lenses are provided, and there is also a brief explanation on how to remove contamination when possible.
Again, these are just the basics. Future videos will go into more detail with some of the topics discussed in this video.

This is an updated video that explains welding power sources (CC & CV). I also discuss the Volt-Ampere Curve, which helps to explain the concept of power sources.
Welding Symbols 2 - Groove Welds Pt. 1
Просмотров 22 тыс.2 года назад
This video continues where my previous welding symbol video leaves off. Where the first one discusses fillet welds, this video introduces groove weld symbols, specifically the single bevel and v-groove. Information is discussed relating to information that can be found on the welding symbol with both types of grooves. Information like depth of bevel, groove angle, root spacing, and more.
Oxyfuel - Track Cutter Demonstration
Просмотров 4 тыс.2 года назад
In this video I demonstrate how to operate a track cutter made by Victor, using oxygen and acetylene. Students need to know of the many methods that can be used to cut steel, especially when learning to cut coupons out of their test plates. This method, when used properly can produce cuts that more higher in quality than most manual cutting processes.
Introduction to Welding Symbols
Просмотров 50 тыс.2 года назад
This video explains what weld symbols are, and how to identify their meaning when drawn on a reference line. Examples are given to reinforce concepts related to fillet welds, fillet weld size, length, pitch, and contour. This is Part 1 in a new series of Welding Symbol videos, which I intend to phase out my older welding symbol videos with.
SMAW - Single Bevel 2G Welding Project
Просмотров 19 тыс.2 года назад
This video is a step by step demonstration on how to prepare, assemble, and weld a Horizontal Single-Bevel Groove weld with a Backing Bar. This is a project I use in my intermediate SMAW course. It prepares students for structural work they may do out in industry, and prepares them for open-groove welding that they will get to do in the SMAW advance class. To get a copy of the Blueprint for thi...
SMAW Intermediate - Identifying Steel & Other Metals
Просмотров 7122 года назад
Three easy tests to identify steel and other metals are demonstrated in this video; the magnet test, spark test, and the scratch test. In a perfect world, metal shops have all materials labeled so that there is no confusion or doubt as to what metal a welder/fabricator has just grabbed to work on a project with. While there are systems in place for us to "easily" identify what metal is what, so...

🙏thnks man. now easy for me to understnd it.
Such a great presentation sir. You have helped me so much.
thank you so much...helps a lot...you just made it simple and very clear
This was relief to watch thank you for answering my (F.A.Q)
This person doesn't have enough knowledge how to use a track torch.. He's making the flame, too hot. The torch is also too high... Once the plate is preheated, the torch needs to be backed off, where just the edge of the blue core is touching the plate. Open the Main cut stream and activate the motion
I start school Monday and u got the most easiest simplest way of explaining this .. thank you 🙏🏼
Should I wear like a n95 mask while using?
Can you explain to the Internet welders what Undercut is? It would be a big help.
Thanks for your explanation sir, very clear and easy to understand. Goodjob godbless you sir
Do you know where and how to specify the number of the typical welding beads/spot for not showing at each place of welding? Thanks in advance!
I guesss u had some issues using the Track Torch!
He said Butt Joint😂 hehehehehehe
thank you currently in school for welding and i am more a visual and explanation type a guy and our instructor xd isnt that way he is a book guy and so videos like this help me get the information i need XD to be able to understand it.
You nailed it.
what is standard do you use in this video? cause sometime i see the different way to put arrow and oppsite in reference line
I'm doing a blacksmith and welding course for 2 years just learning the weld joints and symbols for an assignment
Very clear and precise - thanks! Though I can't imagine a more complex way of describing pitch! Measuring from the start of the weld to the start of the next weld is EXACTLY the same as measuring from middle to middle but requires no math.
Thanks for the help
nice explanation
the mode on the left(soft arc) is for low hydrogen rods(7018) and the one on the right(crisp arc) is for high cellulose rods(6010) but of course you can switch that but actually entering the arc force for each of those settings but thats the way lincoln has designed it
Who else almost felt asleep 😂
Your videos are helping me not feel overwhelmed in my first welding class. I love your teaching style. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video.
Very good and didactical explanation!
Thank you for sharing that! Clear explanation, easy to follow! Thank you!
Very informative
I ve so much to learn ...god..
You couldn't have explained that better you're liquid gold m8👍 appreciate your time to do that for others
Good teaching
Great job you explained this perfectly
Wow that's great video
Nice video and very clear explanation thank you
Great video. Very basic for those of us who have never even seen a weld symbol before. Every question that popped into my head was answered within the next 30 seconds of watching. Thank you!
Thanks for showing how this is done. I would like to see more videos similar to this using 3G open root vertical up, using 6010 for the root pass and 7018 for fill and cover.
❤❤❤
You are amazing sir. But if you make some videos physical that will very gretest.because of i didn't every find any such kind of videos who explained physical in feild.
Used your plans from teachers pay teachers for the welders square and electrode holder. Loved them!!!
Your illustration is awesome, thank you
10:02 it's totally wrong
How
Jose, do you deal with ASME IX ?? Tnx for your job.
18 June 2024, 10:45 AM, South Africa, KwaZulu-Natal, Richards Bay. A million thanks to you friend. You do not know how much easier you have made my life!!!
I need the gap,

Please do part 3 , 2 …
Your vids are very helpful bro 🙏🏼 😭
❤️❤️
Hi sir my i know the standard where you get the 1/2 inch (assume) if there is no specific measure indicated in the symbol? AWS D1.1 or ASME? your accent is clear and good BTW sir . Thanks for this video
9:56 what book are these illustrations from? can you provide the source? book title, author and edition please? thank you
This is the only one best video of teaching welding symbols. It's my great luck to get your video.
