That's true, I estimate the height of the waves in that range too.

The upper part of the river was deep at the edge of the bank, but it became shallower and shallower, so that we often ended up on sand. Due to the glacial water color, it was difficult to estimate how deep the river is. At some point we could barely make any progress because it became too flat. That's why we decided to hike again.

Vielen Dank! Landschaftlich war es wirklich sehr abwechslungsreich, aber auch anspruchsvoll.. Wo warst du unterwegs? Bist du auch schon öfter auf Grönland gewesen?

@@clemens.fiedler Es war mein erstes mal Grönland. Ich bin von Narsarsuaq nach Narsaq gewandert. Ebenfalls mit Überfahrt über den Fjord. Von Narsaq ging‘s dann mit der Fähre in den Norden zum Arctic Circle Trail. Hab auch eine Videoreihe hier auf meinem Kanal darüber gemacht. Witzig übrigens, die zweite Hälfte deines Videos zu sehen. Da war ich auch und sehe es jetzt durch eine andere Perspektive. Besonderes Kompliment übrigens auch für deine Tieraufnahmen. Da hab ich mich schwerer mit getan.

Danke für deinen Kommentar :) Ja, da hast du absolut recht, aber so waren viele Blickwinkel möglich und ich habe es nicht bereut. Das hört sich spannend an, gerne helfe ich dir weiter: 1. Die Karte, die ich verwendet habe, zeigt einem zwar eine "empfohlene Route", aber Wege sind nicht vorhanden und auch kleinere Wege die eingezeichnet sind, waren vor Ort teilweise nicht auffindbar. Die meiste Strecke bin ich tatsächlich weglos gewandert, da es auch keinen großen Unterschied gemacht hat. Aufgrund des schlechten Wetters musste ich oft umplanen und konnte meine Stracke sowie nicht einhalten wie ursprünglich gedacht. Zu Hause arbeite ich gerne mit Google Earth Pro, da dort auch Steigungen, Entfernungen und Höhenmeter einsehbar sind. Mir macht es viel Spaß, sich seine eigene Route rauszusuchen, die sonst nicht irgendwo eingezeichnet ist. Natürlich passieren dann auch Situationen die weder auf Karte noch Google Earth erkennbar sind. Welchen Streckenabschnitt ich wirklich nicht empfehlen kann war der, wo ich fast 7 Kilometer über Geröll und meterhohe Steine musste (Die Schlucht in Richtung Nordwest zum Qoororsuup Tasia See). 2. Ja, das ging problemlos- findest du an den Tankstellen oder auch an Supermärkten. 3. Da kann ich dich entwarnen. Ich hatte selber sehr große Bedenken bei dem Thema. Als ich in Ilulissat angekommen war, hatte ich mich mit mehreren Einheimischen noch länger unterhalten und auch sie erzählten mir, dass sie selber hier noch keinen Eisbär gesehen haben. Ganz auszuschließen ist es wahrscheinlich nicht, aber die Chance ist schon sehr gering. Selber hatte ich nur ein Garmin Inreach Mini als Notfallsystem mit dabei. Hoffentlich konnte ich dir ein bisschen weiterhelfen :)

@@clemens.fiedler Thanks for the info, that helps a lot. How did you do powermanagement fotr al that stuff? A huge powerbank is a burden to drag around all day isnt it? Next, i do not seem to be able to find any information on the few huts you stayed in. Any link that you want to share? PS : I've booked with a group of 5 early June for Ilulissat. We are much older then you are, so we will not be so adventureus anymore, but trust me, if we could we would go your way... too old though :) Maybe there is a way to have a boat drop us in the vicinity of the Glacier so that we could camp in that area for one or two nights.

@@blackpowderenthusiast5734 On my trip I had 2 smaller Powerbanks. In addition, I took a foldable ultralight solar panel, so that I had the opportunity to recharge my powerbanks. That was the only way to have enough electric power, without carrying heavy powerbanks. The only problem you could have, if there is no sun at all :) I stayed only 2 nights in both of these huts. With an special map of Ilulissat, I was able to find them. Both huts were accessible without a key. The card was very helpful, also because there are a lot of additional terrain Informations.
