Randy, Great hat! Glad to hear your comments on razor lifetime. My thoughts exactly. My 1961 (G4) Rhodium plated Gillette Slim is the best looking razor I own. The key to long life for a razor is keep it clean and a little mineral oil. Great shave

Very nice shave, Randy, thank you. I have a date coded Flare Tip myself (in the Prospector finish from Razor Emporium) and do find it a bit harsher than my other razors. I may have to try the TOBS sandalwood AS. I have a couple tubs of their shave creams and they're excellent, but no AS. Have a great week!

Hi Randy, looks like a great shave. I have been hearing good things about the Stirling “woods” fragrances. They must be using some really good essential oils. FWIW - I tried using your RANDYSHAVES discount at Franks, but it is not a valid code. You may need to reach out to Ming, to see if that can be corrected.

Hi Randy, I agree with you on Stirling being a great value for shave soaps. I just tried Stirling for the first time a couple weeks ago and was very happy with the shave. I’ve only smelled a few of their fragrances but they were all good; I’m really enjoying Haverford (their take on T.F.’s T.V). Rod and Mandy are doing a great job providing a good quality product at a great price. I’m in!

As you describe, Stirling shaving soaps are one of the best value soaps. So many choices are available, from so many other soap makers and they are all comparable in their excellence. Just too many to choose from.

Stirling remains my no.1 Artisan brand for all the good reasons: performance, affordable, value, range & availability (even here in Aus). I prefer the 6c because it's lighter than 6s and I don't need a razor that lasts more than my lifetime (I'm already in my 70's). Take care Randy👍🤠👌

​​@randyshaves7956 just an update on the durability testing: I was able to get a total of 34 (thirty four) descent-quality shaves out of my single Russian-made green Astra blade before it finally started to dull down and tugging on my hair instead of cutting them. Thirty four times is how long the blade lasted - not bad, considering I have a thick and coarse stubble. I challenge you to put your Indian-made version of that blade to the same durability test, and let me know how many shaves you can get out of it? IMHO, tossing the blade away after only 5 shaves is an incomplete experiment and a waste of a good blade.
