After 25 years,I took a trip on this road again, and to my surprise, nothing has changed. Same old dusty and rough road. The majority of lands here are used for palm plantations. They produce palm oil for local and international use, yet it doesn't reflect in their lives or their environment. The people deserve better.

      No problem. The only explanation I will have here is that Accra and Kumawu aren't in the same region. Kumawu is in the Ashanti region and is closer to Kumasi than Accra. It's about 4 to 5 hours' drive from Accra, but an hour drive to Kumasi. The weather here is great,good land for farming and very relaxing place. Compared to Accra or Kumasi, land is very cheap here. I love this place, but if you're someone who loves the city vibe, it might be too slow for you. I might be wrong thou because every city person who I brought here loved it. I don't know if you can visit and take decisions or if you will just go by instinct.

Because they don't want other underprivileged girls to be pressured to do unthinkable things just to keep up, they want all girls in schools have a haircut. Do I agree? No! But the majority of the parents are happy about it, so no one is pushing for change.

      @@Ghanadiaries I get what you’re saying but to me that does not make sense. I think someone was lazy and did not want to do anything with the young girls hair so they cut it. And it became the thing. The problem with that is if you do what you’re supposed to do with it being cut. it could prevent hair from growing. Not in all cases.

    • @Ghanadiaries
      @Ghanadiaries Год назад

      @ctbt1832 The thing is, many Ghanaians don't have issues with hair, so they aren't even bothered. Also the cutting of hair thing is deeply rooted in the Akan tradition. Queen mothers cut their hair, and if you have a permed hair, you must cover it during traditional celebrations. Read about dansinkran and you'll understand it more.
