I always look on RUclips to check out the unboxing and reviews of many products...so why not do one myself? ALL AND ALL this ring light is a great deal. fairly good quality...but very easy to set up and use.

Is it pretty common for most all engines to be replaced or rebuilt on these trucks. There’s so many videos of bad motors in these trucks
hello Cody , just saw this video I know its old, I have a 2012 power stroke that really had a stroke and have a few questions? what is the best reman replacement ? is this really worth it? who can do this for me ? I'm in Valencia area north of Los Angeles , any help , ideas?
Can't you just pull the front off of the cab radiator support radiator bumper and pull the engine out the front
Yes you can, in my opinion it's less hassle just a little less room to see what your doing but I've done many without removing the cab.
That's F-ING funny 😂😅
I’m glad my frustration gives you laughter 😊
Oh for sure only everytime
Did you ever get a video of engine removal. At our shop we are trying to find the best way to hook to the engine with our 2 ton picker
I’ll be pulling another engine out here soon and record how I pull the engine. Before I bought engine lift tabs, I just chained underneath each head and pulled her out,
@@Codyross_show we ended up fabing a few mounts at the shop! Worked out great!
A 5/16” fuel line disconnect tool works perfect for that little PITA e-brake cable.
!!!!! Never thought of that!!!! Thanks!
How much do you charge to swap a 6.7 engine?
If I were to charge..,idk 4-5 grand would be awesome
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
I felt that "I'm done" part at the end. Been there a few times and it's definitely annoying.
Truth
Yes 😂
Especially on those retarded Chevrolet side post batteries.
😂😂😂
My luck. 🤣🤣🤣
Dude the 💯!!!
100% correct! 😖🙄
Nothing but the truth!
Not only can you not find help, when you do find someone, they have no understanding of the product you need help with. So fare from their commercials
I’m a contractor and am in a HD pretty much every day for the last 20 years. When HD first came to Pittsbugh I remember when everyone that worked there was a retired tradesmen. Any more, I prefer Lowes if it’s close to a customers house.
😂 lol so true haaa
Use your mirrors people jesus
it happens more often then we like. I personally think it's even worse with help lmao
Every time. Lol
I miss the days where you could walk into a parts store and the guys they're actually new what you were talking about and how to help you instead of the idiots now that work the counter and the only thing they can do is follow the prompts on the screen.. and somehow still give you the wrong part
You forgot to ask if it's four wheel drive
Sooooooo true
Doesn't look too bad. How long did all that take?
First time took me around 3.5-4 hours. But now I’ve gotten down to 2
Thanks for this video. I was always curious as to what goes on. I keep hearing guys say they can get the cabs off in 2 hours. I don't know how? This is way more involved then I imagined.
You mean there is no way to lift and remove the engine without cab removal?
it can be done, just much less of a headache to pull the cab off vs. the amount of stuff you'd have to remove to pull the motor. if there is absolutely no other option, it can be done.
I’ve got a serious question that I’ve only had confirmed with one other person, so I just bought a 2012 Ford F-250 6.7 that had def in the tank and ruined the entire fuel system, bought the truck off my friend who bought it from the owner that the def situation happened to, my friend told me to buy a 2016 entire engine and trans and that it’ll go into the truck no problems, what problems am I gonna have? Will the truck throw codes cause the pump and turbo are different? Need some insight or any thought you May have I’d appreciate it
I would definitely check into it, because from what I’ve heard and seen the 2015 and up have different fueling systems, PCM and turbo. So it would be a bear to change over. It’s not as easy as “ just bolt it in.” I’d look into it. Your best case is find a lower mileage 2011-2014 engine. And the earlier transmissions are stronger.
How did you put the a socket 15/16 to take out the two cab bolts in the front of the truck ?
If the bolt spins I just use Knuckles and a bunch of extensions.
Autonomy guy here. My Boss has me swapping a 2013 cab. With no lift. Looks like a Bear for a D I Y er.
Oh no!!! That’s going to be a task….I was considering using forklifts but glad I decided to buy a car lift, good luck!
Really appreciate the how to video gentlemen... If you do a search... there really aren't that many on RUclips even though the generation is over 10 years old.
Thank you! I’m glad I can contribute to the RUclips community. Because I certainly watch a ton of “how to “ videos.
Do you have to recharge the A/C after disconnecting it?
Yes, ac had to be discharged and refilled
"NOT AS BAD AS YOU THINK"? ... this is FAR worse than I could have ever imagined ... I will own my 1997 F-350 until I die ... and I will probably never wear out the OEM 460
I guess it all depends on the tools you have at hand, for me. It wasn’t a big deal, 3 hours and cab is off. But yes the 7.3 powerstrokes are a timeless truck. Even tho I hate the glow plug/harness situation on them.
@@Codyross_show - the hood on my 1997 takes 2 minutes to get off (including getting the tools) - it'a not a big deal. To me, three hours IS a big deal.
😂 ok then. Complain about working longer on a rig, and not complain about lack of power, comfort, the time it takes just to start the damn truck. Oh! And pull your motor and transmission under 3.5 hour
@@Codyross_show I certainly COULD pull my motor and transmission in under 3.5 hours, and it is not necessary to remove the cab- the 460 has plenty of power, and It starts just fine.
@@sandibaker7646 . Dale. You are a wise man. My F550, 2013. 6.7. Just spun its bearings. With 28,000 miles, on its motor. And Ford, said they will put in a nice new generation 3, 6.7. In it For only $25,000.00. My last ,Ford.
I have to do same job on my truck
I’m doing a 2017 tomorrow(1/6/2022) because I’m doing a turbo replacement. The exhaust pipe on the driver side next to the down pipe is hard to get to. Never done this in a 6.7 powerstroke. This will be the first. Any tips, are greatly appreciated. I’m not a know-it-all and I’m always open to new tips and tricks on how to do things more quickly throughout my work day. Thank you for this video.
I’ve replaced exhaust manifold gaskets in the 6.7 powerstroke ( Which involves removing the turbo ) All with the cab on. As for the exhaust yes it can be quite painstaking, I’m a fairly slender guy so I can weasel my way in there. You can give me a text or call if you really get hung up 541 602 7615
@@Codyross_show I couldn’t get my hand behind the turbo to pull off the exhaust pipe that attaches to the back of driver side manifold to back of turbo beside the down pipe. It’s got a name but I couldn’t remember. I do have a question for you. Having a slight issue getting the four wheel drive to disengage. A fellow coworker took it off before I started operating lift to raise cab. I’ve tried every position I can think of but the truck won’t move in drive or reverse but you can feel it kick in. So I know the adjustment on the FWD cable is not correct. I’m stumped.
THE SAME SIDE OF CAB MOUNT FRONT LEFT DONT KNOW THEY GET STUCK AND IT HAD TO BE THE DIFFICULT ONE OF ALL.
Todd Grisko 0 seconds ago lots of good insight and unknowns that can pop up.. thanks for taking the time to post it up
Looks like a good deal keep up the good work
thanks homie! my first review lol
