Tried several times and they don't solidify but I think I'm cooking the rice too long. I guess you cook the rice half way then they continue to dry out and absorb the moisture as they rest in the fridge. There's load of these videos and not one of them explains that!

Think most club cyclist over fuel judging my the spare tire around most of us MAMIL’s waist lines 😂
Great content. One thing that seems really odd to me is the protein. One slide showed 3g/kg of body weight per day during the TDF and the summary slide showed >2. From my experience this is extremely high. Most authoritative commentators in building muscle through hypertrophy only recommend 1.6 or 1.7. For maintenance you need less than this and 3g is an extraordinary amount. A 70kg rider would need to eat 210 which is similar to a 90 kg competitive bodybuilder using steroids so absolutely pounding themselves multiple times in the gym …. ? Eating this much protein requires several high protein meals outside the 5 hour riding window to be sustainable. For ref Nigel Mitchell also ex Team Sky recommends 1.2 - 1.6.
Indeed the lower numbers (1.6-1.7g/kg/d) are probably sufficient. However, if you eat 8000kcal every day in a grand tour, you get in easily much more than that, because all high carb products also contain some protein (bread, pasta, rice, ...). So if you eat a lot of those products, you automaticcaly get in 3g/kg protein as well.

A follow up - does this apply to runners as well as cyclists? Where does the application shift? Rarely you would train more than 1.5-2 hours a day running (for the average runner)
