What a fabulous view of Melbourne's ever changing skyline. We explored this complex, painted the view, testing our skills and enjoying one another's company. Fabio Cembranelli conducted a workshop for the watercolour Society of Victoria and held the audience spellbound with his masterful brush work. His deft touch was so fast it was hard to register what was happening. his control of the water, and pressure of the mark was a delight to watch. A true master of the watercolour medium with a love of his floral subject matter. Roses were his favourite.

Special interest excursions explore a facet of interest to our members. Karen Neal presented a demonstration at a meeting regarding artists books. Following this we visited the State Library to view some of the gems in their collection. The recent acquisition of Mary Gartside’s rare volume was a particular favourite. All the illustrations were hand coloured.

      Not sure as he uses several different sizes. From fine to large depending on size of piece. Love the way he lays it down and uses the length not just the tip.

    Thank you for sharing! Just curious, was the paper fully saturated with water on both sides or was it just wetted on top side at specific locations? 🙏

      Marc only wets the top surface but before that, he usually fixes the paper to his board with a wallpaper paste (not a strong paste). Perspex or a glossy varnished board makes removing the painting when dry easier. The paste he uses is Metylan (vlies).

    Thank you for the quick tutorial, I found her work through pinterest and love the granulation technique. I haven't seen anyone else use it quite as effectively as she does!

      I've attended one of Eudes' webinars before and he breaks down a lot of what he's doing in a span of 2-3 hours. Because he does sell spots to attend, I think it would be disingenuous to upload his whole video.
