ALSOOOO try staying closer to the crystal before you explode it the closer you are the more your legs will be covered causing you to take less damage

also using your axe is a rly bad idea because you need more damage per second not timed hits just use a sword

ALSOOo when your in a intese crystal match and none of you guys are moving but you guys just spam crystals instead of having a totem in your ofhand have some gaps and chug them non stop while crystaling this gives you more time to crystal them and more DPS (Damage Per Second)

also dont rush in wait for them to come to you and dig down 1 block surrond your self then crystal them when they move forward

Also dont use respawn anchors unless your fully surroned in obisidian becasue respawn anchors are to hard to set up on obisidian

also @Xfernal pro tip dont jump crystal damage does more to your legs and can pop all your totems
