If wanting to make it GTE Supra sell your GE and just save up rest and buy a GTE. GE Supras a junk. I bought a GTE 6 speed manual getrag for 10k AUD at auction. However, spent another 15k on it to make it brand new. 25k AUD will get you brand new GTE single turbo street supra (paint, interior, brakes, clutch, extras pulling 600hp upgradable to 800hp with just turbo change. DIY. Had space and know how. however.

I understand alot of the changes that had to be made but i'm just curious as to why the wiring had to be changed? the 2jz was from the aristo, but was also available in late model supras, the same generation as the series two szr's. Wouldn't the harness from the gte plug right in?
I also have a szr with the getrag and no turbos. With this you have three options -Turbocharge the 2jz-ge -Swap a 1jz head on (1.5jz) -Swap out the 2jz-ge for the 2jz-gte as shown in the video. Can't decide

Only ran stock ECU to test turbo and other components, now running ViPEC V88 standalone. Although when I was TT I needed boost cut device to boost over 15.7psi, this is normal for the stock ECU.

where those dyno figures ATW or raw engine power? 135KW is very low for at the engine, but at the wheels it seems spot on, please clarify??

Mine's a GCG Garrett T51R 76mm, not a HKS unit. HKS KAI is 70.3mm and SPL is 76.5mm
A T51R is a 76mm turbo? I think thats a typo. The T51R KAI is a 70/71mm turbo, and the SPL is a 74mm. ( Correct me if I'm wrong )

Hey, thanks a lot. I ended up buying an engine a few days ago. I got a VVTI from a 1999 model supra with 106,000km on it. He pulled out the dash cluster and also gave it to me with the ECU, engine harness, fire wall harness and dash harness, got all the stock intercooler piping and intercooler with it as well as the stock air box which was a bit broken but ok and the fuse box so im pretty happy :). i will have a look at your site for some tips. thanks!
unless you pull the engine, I had a good look at it and also pulled the sump off to change to supra sump and crank looked really good also, plus it made good power. Came with aristo harness and ECU, ended up buying supra ECU and harness 2nd hand. Intercooler easy to put in, piping little harder, nothing major. Hardest thing was tracking down differences between engines such as ps fittings, sensors etc I also have the info on my website.
Hi, best thing to do is jump on supraforums AU and check out my thread in project section. Not very difficult if you have some mechanical knowledge and the right tools plus a workshop manual (can download off my website - 2jzgarage). Brought engine privately, it came from a reilable source as he was someone in the community well known and his father was in the import business, plus it was off a late model aristo which I knew wouldn't have many km's, there is never any sure way of telling

hey, i have an szr and am planning on doing the same thing soon and i have a few questions. i was wondering if it was extremely difficult or not? and also when you bought the 2JZ-GTE engine, where did you buy it from and how did you know how many km's it came with and whether the answer was reliable or not. And did the wiring harness and ecu come with the engine? and was the intercooler hard to put in? sorry about all the questions, just wanted to ask someone who has actually done it. thanks :)
