    thoughts - with your lids, punch two holes about 10mm apart and cable tie or wire it down, since you are using electric candles, you can buy wax pillar ones from big W. Otherwise use a carboard tube with hot glue melt marks and paint it a creamy white. Overall it looks good and should work well for halloween.

    • @pumpkinhead8633
      @pumpkinhead8633 5 месяцев назад

      If the electric candles are affordable and have the switch anywhere, but underneath, they would probably be good. As long as they are able to be secured, and are able to be switched on and off. The cardboard candles might be good for a sheltered position. Most of my display is exposed to the elements, so I find the battery tea lights to be an advantage, because I can pop them out if it rains, without ruining the look of the display. Plus, I can easily access the on/off switch and they fit securely into well secured candle bases without danger of falling off. Using the cable ties idea is a good alternative for securing the plates if you don’t want to use screws. I like screws because they provide additional support for the wax candles to prevent them falling off, because in addition to the candles sticking to the plates, the screws serve as anchors. My bad for not explaining properly. I’m sure that I’ll use your cable tie idea for a future project. Thanks. FYI, I saw some solar lights advertised at Aldi about a year ago, but missed out on them. They came as a pack of 4, all the same size and at a good price. I missed out on them. If I come across those again, I would consider using the cable ties as you suggest, use a very strong glue to attach their base to the plate and pray for a sunny day to charge them for Halloween. Thanks again.

    • @pumpkinhead8633
      @pumpkinhead8633 Год назад

      That's very kind of you to suggest Armoury, but I like to do it by myself without any pressure. Its a personal thing. An idea comes, then I source what I need from what I already have, or from what other people are throwing away, and make it when I'm getting ready for Halloween. I wouldn't even know how to make a collab video. It would just make the process a bit harder for me. I hope you understand.

    Awesome. I have to try this. For the heads, I'd use a foam ball or a half ball. It holds the cage together and gives a more rounded head. I still like the way you did it though

    • @pumpkinhead8633
      @pumpkinhead8633 2 года назад

      I think the foam ball is a good idea. There is another prop that I put together that could benefit best with one too. But, it means that I’d have to store it and I have absolutely no space left for anything. I think that if space isn’t an issue, go for it! :)

      @@wyntresorrow403 I get you now… a bucket. I thought it may have been a typo. If it has to be like a bucket, maybe you could convert a plastic, or tin pot and draw, paint, or even stick a face on. Maybe drill holes in the side and use an old wire coat hanger for handles. Maybe, just buy a plastic bucket and put a face on? What are your ideas?

    • @pumpkinhead8633
      @pumpkinhead8633 2 года назад

      Some thick rope, or leather-like strapping might be a more comfortable handle than wire as a handle. Changed my mind about the coat hanger.

      Thanks Janice. Thing is a helpful character, and often helps Morticia in the glasshouse, so it seems to be true to his role in the show. I think he would stand out better with a red, or blue glove, since the green blends in with the foliage of the plant... and maybe a bigger, bolder flower. I hope that the idea behind how to make it is what people see, and that they will use their imagination to make it shine. Arranging him next to Cousin Itt with a spotlight on them would create a nice shadowy effect. Thank you for your interest and for dropping me a note.🎃👻
