Hamilton does get a bad rap and visually it is a mostly beautiful town full of trees and relatively nice streets. But when I visited there recently there is an underlying negative vibe to the place that is hard to not notice and it reminded me why I don't like being in Hamilton.

I lived in Tokoroa from 1984 - 1993. I now live in London. I had lived on Chmbers street, Kent street and Phillip street. I miss Tokoroa very much sometimes. I still remember at my last year at high school when it was announced Tokoroa was about to get 'City Status' then the downturn began and the population took a plunge ... Dropped from alomost 20k to about 18k or a bit less ...

Wow, they took away the town clock, and my sister's old house on the other side of the train tracks behind New World is gone and have replaced by new homes. My folks lived in Delmeny St then moved to Balmoral Dr many years ago.

I lived there back in the 70s and 80s..aint changed much at all. Cars have gotten flasher though,didn't see one Morris 1000,or Humber 80..hehe

Your slow driving must get you a few honks from other drivers.😂
