Thanks for the nice video, Alec. It helped in my repair of my old Hayter Envoy35 that has virtually the same switch design. I found a similar continuity break at the same point in the supply cable. Quickly mended. Your tip about the internal springs was particularly helpful. You’ve probably saved my quite a few hundred quid for not having to buy a new mower so cheers. Andrew
Thank you for watching. Glad it was of use to you. Alec
Hello, thakyou for watching my video. The diameter and the overall length are both critical to it clicking in. Just check that both the flexible plastic catches are intact. Good luck. Alec
Thank you for the share. Nice job
Brilliant, I was struggling with my tractor master cylinder seals, then found your video, the master cylinder is identical mine to my caseih tractor, boom, all sorted now, cheers
Good afternoon, many thanks for looking at my video. Glad it helps. Alec
Thanks. Changing my rear wiper blade first time. This is helpful.
Thank you
Nice one, looked a bit tricky to me. Thanks for uploading this
You solve my problem thanks
at about @2:10 how does he know that the difference isn't caused by a vacuum leak? because if it was, he just masked it, probably forever.
Upgraded my 1963 TR4 to a CSI unit. Negative earth type as I already made the conversion fron pos earth. Does your car run well with the "9" flashes or have you adjusted after road testing?
Thanks for the video. You showed us how they look after they're taken apart. And you showed us how they look after they're put back together. You neglected to give any advice on how to get them apart. The hint about the rollers was helpful. PS: When I did mine, I put them in my electrolysis tank that I built for removing the rust. Works great, and is less damaging than wirebrushing, since it removes the rust on a molecular level.
Many thanks for looking at my video. The method I use now is this. Have a look, it works for me and it gets inside to parts that other methods don't reach . Good luck Alec m.ruclips.net/video/COqpax4huOI/видео.html
Thank you!👍
THANK YOU
A little bit of the best British engineering. Thank for that. Alec
I worked for Girling for 28 years, I probably have the drawings for these, which were made in Cwmbran.
Hi Alec. Just a short note to say thanks for your helpful TR4 videos. They have been invaluable to me and i will be making one of your rear seal removal tools in the near future.
Witch repair kit do you use ? Reference of the repair kit? Nice video i'm from Portugal
Hello, many thanks for looking at my video. I used moss-europe.co.uk. Part number GRK1027 0.75ins Bore. for a TR4. Use part number 18G8986 0.70ins for a TR4A. Good luck. Alec
tks a lot
@ 0:35 please don't apologise for naming parts...i didn't know them, but thanks to your tutorial i now do! Thank you very much for this
Thanks for the video. Just what I needed. Cheers
Great job.
Thanks for that. Took me ages to work out how to release the spring following the haynes manual
Thank you, it worked. Only difference is that I held the nut is a short section of split cable wrap an some electrical tape to firm it in place. My wife held it whilst I rotated the nozzle.
Hi Alec, How to Differentiate Right and Left Trunnion Physically?it seem to be the same ?i have got a pair of new one but i don't see
Many thanks for looking at my Vidio. The trunions may look the same but they they are machined to include very small angles for the Caster, Camber and Kingpin inclination (KPI). The Trunions part number depends on chassis number and wire or disc wheels. Good luck with your project. Alec
Thanks, great solution!
Hi, wat is this part called? I lost this piss in the move and I’m trying to find a replacement
The piece with the spring on it
It takes a 1616 3v lithium battery. Thats for an 06 year Jazz.
you say the same thing over and over AND OVER AGAIN, then skip over other crap that would be useful to see, telling about how you did stuff that is not in the video... but NOT SHOWING IT... this is a POORLY THOUGHT OUT and POORLY EXECUTED VIDEO PRESENTATION OF HOW TO SET UP A CARB,... thumbs down, thx for wasting my time, i will go elsewhere to someone willing to put in the effort to show me how to do it, rather than primarily concerned with himself and willing to give a slight glimpse of what is going on.. YOU SUK as a teacher,
I have got an original rear seat from my 1964 TR4 and the two mounting clips are located half way down the seat and about 3 inches in from the sides. Thank you for the video.
Thank you for that information
"PromoSM" 😕
Alec Is there a part number for your colour tuning equipment? I would like to purchase one of these. Steven
Thanks Alec. I have the same job to do on my 62 TR4.
Thank that really help with my dad's car
HI Alec can you tell me which is the difference between right and left trunion ?i can't see the difference ? i just know someone 3 degrees and 0 degree regards
Very sorry for not getting back sooner. I'm finding it difficult to link my RUclips account to my very old iPad
Do you know how/where I can get this version of movie maker?...(I have windows 11).Thanks.
🤣 "PromoSM"
Hello! Nice video but when I'm trying to updat it, is asking me for the license code, I have no idea how to get it or why. Can you help me find that number or know where I can find it ? Thank you!!

Great video, Thank you. I’ll be fitting mine this weekend.
havent you seen a ratchet spanner
Hi Alec, thank you for your RUclips videos. Can you help me with explaining how to change the milometer from kilometers to miles??🤔
The previous owners had used standard white matte paint to cover the cupboards (not cupboard paint) and all are peeling. I did a temp repair with some white veneer strips but it seems the type of paint was the cause ??? Moisture on top of the veneer perhaps bled through making the glue inactive? Can I fix it in the same way? I tried wood glue but it wouldn’t hold and became very messy. I’m thinking to buy kitchen cupboard renovation paint and paint over it but need help to fix the peeling.
Hello Charlie, the reason that I selected Wickes ultimate grab adhesive is that it sticks to most things, including damp wood and non porous material. It is also good when near heat. You could try using a medium hot iron to re activate the original adhesive and to flatten the plastic. Thanks for looking at my video and good luck. Alec
Thank you Alec. Great video and great advice to follow. Here’s to the second attempt! Again, thank you for your help 😊
Hi. I have the same carb set up on a wolseley 6 and they are bogging down under acceleration. Any ideas ? Thank you
Hello Sam, l'm not quite familiar with the tem bogging down, but if you mean it engine is not accelerating properly I did have this problem when one jet was sticking slightly open after using the choke. A little lubrication of the linkage sorted it out. It could be fuel. Don't use the 10 only the 5 and remember the our modern fuel goes off after a time. Check that your No1 piston is firing at the correct time. My TR4 fires 4 deg before TDC and your point gap is correct and they are not pitted . Good luck
I appreciate you so much.
Many thanks for looking at this video. Just to let you know that after five years all the repairs are still good. Alec
Alec: I was wondering how you were getting on and here you pop up! Love your content. Also love your tools. You seem to have older and better tools, making me wonder if you were in the motor business. It’s easy to tell you’ve been around the barn more than once on this stuff. Bloody good as you fellas say! -Reed
Good to hear from you again. No I have never been in the motor trade but I have only ever had"old" cars and serviced them myself. I always try to have the best tools so all my spanners are Snapon from the USA. How are you getting on with your projects? Alec
Im getting on ok. I wish I had more time. This Xmas I’m hoping to put a solid week on a rusty TR6 and if lucky will have the rear valance, left center and right boot floors, and floors installed. I’ve owned this as a parts car for decades, and only in the last few weeks realized what a good prospect it was. Of course, the passing of 25 years in storage raised it from a lowly parts car to a prime candidate. Go figure!!
Hello Alec , I have a question for you. Why did you use wood at the outside front of the seat frame ? Or was that just to get a pattern for the back? My seats only have wood the back bottom of the seat frame.
Nice job
Good tip Alec. Thanks
Alec, I’m hoping you are doing well.
did you get any loss of power / acceleration with this leaking ?
Many thanks for looking at my video. I noticed the problem early because the fuel was marking my drive not from loss of performance. The repair is still OK after 7 years. Good luck. Alec
