Got one of these pieces of shit parked up in the garage. Rattles like a battle tank! Just came back from KTM getting valve clearance done. Perfect! What wasn't was the piston, crank and bearings. Full rebuild required. Lucky it's not mine and i didn't buy it. Buyers BEWARE.... Never buy KTM, stick with Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki.

Looks normal, I have 690 duke too with 30.000 Miles, sound like yours ktm. I did valve clearance the sound is a little bit less . But the motorcycle works well. Actually I'm doing a road trip to Peru, and the sound is the same all the way, I think this sounds is proper from LC4 KTM's . Just enjoy... lol

When I bought mine and made a lot of noise brand new it made noise. at 600 miles I have the valve shim. It was quiet for about thousand miles. When I got the 5000 miles I decided to check the valves. They were tight. So I bought a shim kit and send it to the right specifications. now it's noisy as hell. Sounds very similar to yours.

Yeah man my 2015 KTM 690 Enduro R sounds literally the same, just replaced worn Rocker Arms, checked cam chain (tight), everything is looking good. And the bike rips so screw it, I'll just enjoy the insane torque! In the back of my mind I think it might be the piston, I just saw some pics of a 690 piston where the piston rings lined up and the piston slapped the cylinder.. So I might try to get a new piston/can in there over the next winter. Until then, I'm throwing my front wheel into the air. Bike is a BLAST.

It is normal. Got is checked by a KTM mechanic and he said it's just more mechanical noise. All bearings and valves were ok.

Yep, the KTM dealer checked it today and everything was fine. Rocker arm bearings, cam chain, valves, everything was fine.

If a ktm doesnt make any noise then its broke ;) But too be honest, my bike has been noisy for over 12000km and she doesnt have any problems. On my channel i have a vid where i had 4000km on my bike now i have 8000 more and i only did the regular service with valve checks. The rattle sound is from the chain and the automatic camchain tensioner which makes that sound at idle. But the ticking noise could be the valves. Ticking sound is removable to a certain point but the rattleing is a part of the 690's. If you want to be on the safe side bring the bike to a ktm shop. You still might want to take a look at the rocker arms. What year is your bike? (Probably 08-11 --black frame--) The years 08-11 the arms tend to get a radial play which would show in your engine stalling often and starting bad or not at all. No worries ;) (NOT important: Years 12-16 the arms tend to get a axial play which means that the bearing might fall out because its not pressed in tight enough from the factory which is a common problem on the 690's. )
Just got it checked today at the shop and everything was fine at 12000km. Even the valves were ok. I drive this bike since 2011 from 0km on the clock and the rattleing sound. which was more loud than normal, really got my attention a couple of weeks ago. After all nothing to worry about, rocker arms, bearings, cam chain, everything is ok.

have same sound, checked them and they wasnt worn, i bet its cam chain which is lose cuz low oil pressure cuz low rpm

Dude, TSI (Turbocharged Stratified Injection) = TFSI (Turbocharged Fuel Stratified Injection), its just that audi still uses the TFSI initials, and VW doesn' t. Both engines are FSI with turbocharger, as simple as that ...

We don't have 97 here. Only 95 and 98, and yes it makes a difference, also in consumption. The TFSI engine is made to run 100% with 98 octane because it's a high compression engine. The higher the octane, the better it runs. When I'm in Germany, I always tank 102 octane and it runs much better.

between 7 and 8 seconds that's not bad at all. factory is saying 7,2 with a stock manual. if it was'nt for that little bit of wheelspin you would have made that fairly easy.
