I am 17 and Im not sure if it's even ocd... But if it is ocd, I feel like I may have figured out the issue. However, I can't get help. I don't have money. I'm slowly going insane and I cried three times today I'm begging anyone to help me and heal me I don't know what to do anymore

I feel like disgusting whenever I see any gold, metal, silver coins, currency coins, currency notes, rusty water combined with pins near them, pins, coins near algae. Whenever I think of them or feel like touching them or seeing someone who wears earings I feel so disgusting, irritated, etc. I am not understanding how to explain my problem. Whenever I see any objects with algae, like the green color in bathrooms, I feel so irritated. Why this is happening only for me? Is this any disease? please help me to understand my problem please

I've accidently bumped my gas burners on twice. It's very old and doesn't have safety push knobs. Very glad I ran home both times for other things and noticed it before my house became a fireball. I don't think making sure my stove is off every time I touch it is making a mountain over a molehill. Getting irritated every morning because my cousin is a complete slob is making a deal over nothing. Which is why I don't say anything. I just wipe the sticky stuff off the counters so I can set my work bag down and unload. I just tell myself it's temporary. She'll move out and goto college in a year or two.

So true when I was dealing with religious ocd literally when i tried accepting the thoughts as they were and not really challenging them like "am not doing a sin beacsue of x,y,z" it doesn't care about logic you don't need reassurance it's often a sign of a compulsion that needs to go and you can respond to any thought that's ocd related for that matter don't Juge it say things like"oh here's that thought again wlecome " go close to the thought so it doesn't affect you as much so get comfortable with the thought don't think ot as danger thats about it but when you do this your brain goes like berserk but you need to resist, myslef within a week my thoughts went down by a good 75% it's tough yes but possible.

The reason I prefer to eat alone is because 1) I don't like to talk to people while eating, and 2) I don't like worrying about being judged for what I'm eating or having to explain what I'm eating or not eating.

Thank you for sharing this. I had these thoughts when I was 8 and I could never speak on it and i didn't know what to do and having it without healing up to adult hood is a terrifying shift into adulthood. Its like slipping and watching yourself fall off of a cliff for 11 years and not knowing how to help yourself. It has heightened other mental health issues and now I isolate and avoid potential friendships, relationships and i isolate from family. Self harm schizoaffective germophobia depression and anxiety and borderline personality disorder have developed. The worst first time i remember my dad forcing me as a child to sleep in the room upstairs with my sisters when I was little and it was the most terrible night. He yelled at me to go upstairs after i kept saying no so it was a lose lose and i wanted to take my life that was when i was 8. Thats around the time I started selfharming and i was molested repeatedly when i was 6. God is the only reason im still alive. But some religious ocd is an issue as well which im almost ashamed of. But I know Jesus is King and the only reason im still alive is because of all of the failed attempts to take my life which left me scarred badly all over. I pray anyone dealing with this is granted strength peace and understanding and the discovery of this before they hurt themselves under the lie of thinking they are a bad person. In Jesus's Name Amen.

I push all of my needs to the side when I'm doing my interest, like not eating or using the bathroom, when u do eventually eat, i eat my favorite food, crackers with butter 😅 do you have any advice on if this could be something more than ocd, as i have been speculating for months and researching autism, and it definitely all makes sense for me.

school refusal is a right, there is no reason why anyone should be forced to do anything against their will, its not a disease to refuse to be incarcerated by state sponsored education, its an act that everyone has the right to the same as the act the breathe, its a right, not a disease to be treated

    • @KairosOCD

I understand your point of view, and I definitely do not consider school refusal a "disease" but rather a symptom of many different potential societal and individual issues. In my work, I view school refusal through the lens of anxiety. Many of my clients wish they could go to school, they just can't make themselves do it because of negative triggers.

@KairosOCD generally i wont elaborate, but here i will. It took me about a month to find my tv, about 6 weeks before I found my laptop. I got lucky on my desktop monitor, main contender last in stock and on sale, week after research. It starts 'no budget heres what I want', narrow down to budget, narrow down to min req, review everything (XvsYvsZ, lifetime, random oneoffs, etc) This is mainly for major purchases, but occasionally I'll do the same with stuff like whiskey. I've had very few things I've wanted to return. My wife just buys things, usually with little to no research. I've lost count of things she said were a waste of money, or replaced in a few months. She did great with the automatic litter box, but most major buys she has me do research. Identify all expected flaws to prevent buyers remorse.

So there is a difference between a very careful shopper and compulsive research of a product (and the need to buy the "perfect" product) and an anxiety around being the "wrong" product. At that point the therapist really needs to find the root of those thoughts and beliefs. I don’t think any therapist worth their hide would just automatically jump in and say you’re fine. But at the same time, if the patient just says “I think I’m a bad GF and doesn’t offer additional context then the therapist is only working off of the information they are given. But still good points. It’s a cycle if you don’t stop it.

I have compulsions that make me re-download, re-organize and sort all digital life: playlists, videos, photos, documents. But the rules are that they all need to be from the original source, with same file names, not too much files otherwise I couldn’t keep track of them. But the problem is that the ocd is what creates this mess because trying to re-download and organize and keep jumping from file to file creates incomplete tasks that then causes mess but the hoarding of them just can’t make let go of them from the first place. It’s very weird variation and I can’t find a solution to it anywhere

What happens when one of the ways you end up dealing with the pain of the L.O.'s rejection is to seek out women who remind you of her and pursue them? And what if you are sometimes successful? Now you were able to (at least temporarily) distract yourself with another person or persons, but could you be at risk of fitting the label of "womanizer" or worse a sex addict? This could be confusing and destructive for a man and probably not good for the women he encounters.

Remember, like all anxiety and OCD cycles, limerence is an antecedent that can lead to a behavior that can lead to a consequence. It is painful for ourselves and others, but ultimately, we learn to break the cycle to avoid the negative consequences.

for me, I would love to eat veggies and be healthy and normal but most vegetables genuinely taste like vomit/stomach acid/regurgitation to me. that gross wet taste in the back of ur throat after u had a nasty burp? that’s EXACTLY what 99% of vegetables taste like to me. recently, I tried venison (deer meat, bc I love meats) stew. Well, the venison was great except for the fact that it tasted like it was bathed in watery vomit. I almost gagged but suppressed it and held my breath and swallowed and told my friends who made it for me that it was great. I’ve never encountered another human being who thought almost all things made with vegetables had a vomit taste to them, and I’d love to find out why I’m this way. I just want to eat like every other person I know, but I can’t because I simply refuse to put food in my mouth that is going to literally taste like puke and make me gag.
