basically Wing Chun is made out of a few moves, everything else is chi sau...
Im a wing chun practitioner. My sifu has learned from both Samuel Kwok and Ip man’s sons. We’ve never seen really why Ip man was capable of. However the people he trained, passing the Knowledge onto others, you can see the devastating power and precision they can muster. All it takes it a quick one two to the vulnerable areas of the human anatomy and it’s over. You practice these reactive drills, do the forms daily and apply them in different situations, this is a valuable skill to have.

The one major problem for Wing Chun is it doesn't have a real range in MMA fighting. Boxing and kickboxing are much better at range and once you're that close you're better off grappling if you're any good at it. For this reason and with my knowledge of Wing Chun, I think it's actually incredibly useful and possibly optimally used as a method to control your opponent to set up ideal grappling situations to set up better for judo and BJJ. Of course if neither fighter wants to take it to the ground, then you can use more Wing Chun and just be sure to stick to them like glue.

there are too many grandmaster in wing chun they should face off and fight for that privalige I can bet there are not many left standing. all I know is there is only one grandmaster in any particular style the rest are then students

most wing chun teachers show skill on smaller opponents and most show technique and many Chase hands. this is why wing chun gets a bad view.
That and the total lack of the ONLY thing that truly teaches you how to fight. Sparring

sifu. kwok has skill so do many lineages but. most can't make it work in real fight situations against aggressive resistance. I practice wing chun it has helped me numerous times but yo have to be fast direct and rooted
Totally agree. Not practical in real fight situation. If this WC is so good , why not much WC practitioner go to MMA ?

Kevin Picton Wong Shun Leung Ving Tsun is one of the old and true versions. Alongside with Moy Yat, Lok Yiu and Chu Sheung Ting. The styles of these masters are the oldest and more original ones because they were the first students of Yip Man... but wing chun changes from teacher to student... that's the point.
+Cao Thị Thủ Woah woah, there are so many different versions of martial arts that you cannot call it shit. There are many that challenged Ip Man, however, they respected that there are different forms of certain kung fu styles. I have seen Wing Chun mixed with Hung Gar, as one of the Sifu's who recently passed away demonstrated that.

+Makaveli Soldier. Hey. Of cause I can't prove anything here on RUclips. But after 13 years of training in the wt/vt Stile. I know and can see if something is good or bad. Mr Kook has no rooting, as the most important problem. If you are not 'sitting down' you can not deliver max vt power into your opponent. Vt-training should be basics almost Al the time, because without basic, everything will suck. I see no basic training at all. But a lot of cheap tricks, that makes the students go, waw! Most of the tricks are useless in a real fight. They only work against oder vt students.....so what is it worth. My last word is, try WSL-Ving Tsun, and you will know what I'm talking about.
+Kevin Picton You're fucking disrespectful. The only reason why Ip Man was so famous was because he brought Wing Chun to Hong Kong and made it famous. No one really knew of the art until opened a kung fu school in HK. There is no 'true form' for any martial art, as there are so many different versions of it. I even seen Wing Chun mixed with Hung Gar, which can be just as effective if used correctly. Ip Man has fought a japanese soldier in his teens who was harassing a girl during one of the world wars. *No one* said it originated from them. They only gave him credit for bringing Wing Chun more students.
