True, each marriage is different. What work for me and hubby may not work for u and your marriage. I cook most days; however, when I don’t cook, he is man enough to defend for himself. My hubby told me earlier in our marriage that he doesn’t expect me to cook all the time and I don’t.

I did this all the time and ran a business! He never appreciated it and now we are divorced 🎉

I think the problem is too many people burned themselves out on someone who either stopped being appreciative or never was in the first place. But they put in a ton of effort into trying to get them to be appreciative and now they are jaded. I’ve been the sole cook in my household for a decade and my husband never fails to be grateful even when it’s something he didn’t like.

When its not an expectation and demand its easiest to do acts of affection like this. When i dated men, i would love to do acts of service to make them happy but when they started demanding me to do them it kills that drive. Im not your mother and wont act like her. You appreciate me and dont treat me like a slave then i will have the drive to do these types of things daily
