hi how are you? i tried to fix it too by disassembling it, like yours it would accept the disk but not read it. it had no problems ejecting it. now when i reassembled it it won't even accept discs. did i forget to connect something back or is this another issue?

I'm looking for some pointers on a weird issue my ps3 is having. I have the same model you are working on in the video but mine is not ejecting disk. The power button works fine but the led for disk detection isn't coming on. The strange part is that it's taking disk fine and dvds word and play fine. I can only get them to come out by doing a soft eject using the triangle button though. Pressing the eject button beeps 3 times like nothing is in there. It's having some problems reading blu ray disks but they are working off and on. If the drive can't read the disk it's getting stuck because the detection isn't working. Any help would be much appreciated!

Chickenbackers are the ideal projects for me. I mainly want to practice working on guitars. I also want a combination of Rickenbacker features that is unavailable in a guitar, 3 different ones. To buy a real one and then change it, would only work for one of the 3. So I bought 2 Chickenbackers and a few thousand dollars worth of parts and tools from Rickenbacker and the Rickenbacker aftermarket. Rickenbacker got more of my money than the builder of the starter body. I am having fun with it. They will be clearly faker, using Red paint pen to add Ch over the R and Re before Made on the TRCs, one will have Foghorn Leghorn on the upper scratchguard when I'm finished. For me it's a tribute. And a way to improve a new skill. I'm re radiusing the fretboard to 10. I'm refretting, full electronics, potting and dropping singlecoils in the fake toaster shells. For someone who just wants a cheap Rickenbacker its not a good idea. Some would say I'm crazy but its the journey. I drove more commerce in the USA this way than buying 2 real Rick's. I will eventually buy a proper one. I have 3 and 4 bridges for each to experiment with, so I know how to set each up. Ive started but have a long way to go. The slots on the 12 being routed all wonky set me back a ways. And the control cavity being too large. But I am in finishing with some carpentry professionally. They will never be fully done. But an exploration.

I just got one of these for $8 at Goodwill. Couldn't resist. Needs minor repair to tuners, nut and bridge to be totally playable. I would like to lower the bridge to get the action lower further up the neck. Maybe just make a new one? Anyway, I couldn't resist for the price, it just has such a nice vibe to it.

that's one good solution,another is jailbreak it,install linux,,then use external usb blue ray disk drive to read your game into disk.

Can you just swap a ps3 disc drive with another ps3 disc drive without all the messing with the sister boards?

The only issue related to copying is the trademark, which is still active. The patents on everything related to the 325 expired in the 70s. So, free to copy. The copies are only counterfeit if there is a genuine intention to deceive the buyer in to thinking they are real. So, $300 from China are not counterfeit.

A noisy guitar is my pet peeve, I just cured one last night, and my Squire Stratocaster had several solder bridges on the selector switch so several were shorted, just cutting them fixed my noisy issue. For most of my new guitars, I line the cavities with copper tape, there are types with conductive adhesive that work best. I had several new guitars and just touching the rear cover would buzz and hum.

I have the second original PS3. The first original had 60 GB hdd, and the second had 80 GB. I bought it in 2007 I believe. Now ot won’t read DVDs or game discs, but reads blu-rays fine. I believe the PS3 had 2 laser systems? So my guess is, that the one for dvds and game discs has expired?

Hello dear, I would like to know if you could tell me if the size of the spring of the Bigsby B60 that comes with the Gretsch (Korea) G5420T guitar is 7/8" or 11/16". I wonder if perhaps the previous owner of the guitar has changed the size of the spring of the Bigsby, because I see it very low almost parallel to the pickguard and does not allow pumping movement or is it like that? Hi! Thanks for the video, it was informative. Seems I might have the same problem. What's the part number and rough price of the disc drive you purchased in this repair? Today I got a PS3 slim from Goodwill. Goodwill had some TV's so I tested it the machine. It worked just fine with a Batman PS3 game I found at the store. The CD was accepted and it loaded up, no problem. In fact I played for about 5 minutes. The machine and controller it came with were kinda dirty, so tonight I cleaned them. The controller works well. So far, so good. Anyway, turns out the Batman game from Goodwill was the previous owners as its info was stored onto the counsel. Just like earlier today, I played it for a bit and then watched a DVD. So far so good! THEN I discovered a problem. When I attempted to play my copy of FIFA the game wouldn't load. The game was accepted into the PS3, but after a few seconds the machine made the same CLUMP noise as in your video. So now I'm wondering what's going on. How come the DVD and Batman worked? In another repair video the guy said to perform a machine restore followed up with an update and supposedly it would fix the problem. Any advice? Thank you.

Ok so I have a check 2501a model.. does the disc drive for that model have a daughterboard. Or can I just switch them out as needed. I'm having this same issue and I have a new disc drive for it

Greetings, I was doing maintenance on my PS3 and the flex or heads of the Blu-ray reader were damaged, when I tried to connect it they were already damaged, I have the CECH 2501A console and I need to buy now those FFC/FPC Flexible Flat Cable Ribbon flex cables, but I see 2 differences in these cables 'Forward Direction' or 'Reverse Direction', for the 8 pin cable and the 14 pin cable which is the correct option to avoid making a mistake when buying?

Exactly my thought. I agree that a $300 Chickenbacker is not preventing the sale of a $3,000 Ric. Chickenbackers are just for people who won't or can't buy a real Ric. Chickenbacker isn't cutting into Ric's bottom line.

I bet the tech was an old guy. Old guys hate multi scale guitars with more than 6 strings. He tried to sabotage it n purpose, which included throwing dirt on it. I hate boomers.

The Burns unique gearbox Truss rod adjustment was used under licence by Gretsch for a time. Baldwin took the quality of Burns guitars rapidly downhill once they acquired them. It's no wonder rhey couldn't sell them. I have several original Burns guitars and the new ones brought in by Barry Gibson are pretty good too.

My internals are North American, however the disk drive that I am replacing is Japanese. Will this work or not?

I have a 2000 Dot. I replaced the neck PU with a P-94 (single coil which fits in a humbucker slot). I think that I paid $430.00 for it (w/ a good case) when the shop had it for over a year (6/2001). For the money it's a really good guitar. Mines natural and the wood grain is starting to be more visible.
