Why are you pronouncing it “porta-kahl-yuh”??? The name has 6 syllables, not 4 (like you’re saying). And the 5th syllable starts with an R, not an L. It should be pronounced: por-too-luh-kah-Ree-uh”

Very nice tree and I love what you did to it. I subscribed so I can see how it developes. I really don't think this tree is as bad as you feel it is. All those issues have, in my opinion, make this a very interesting tree.

Thanks Lisa, I appreciate your insights and YES please stay tuned because I plan on showing updates of all the work I've done on trees. One of the parts that drives me crazy is not seeing these trees months and years from when others have done work on them. I'll keep them coming! Cheers

Hey, great start! Be interesting to see which direction you take this tree in the future. Whn work ing fresh deadwood, the to pull individual fibres, rather than carve. It will look a lot better afterwards!

Thanks for the comments. Bonsai gives us the maximum brain activity! The goal is to move from sympathetic to parasympathetic nervous system. I'm not a neuroscientist, just can remark on how Bonsai gives me balance in life.
