I'm Gayle. I crochet, and I talk about it. I'll make anything once, maybe even twice. Vintage and modern patterns and some freehand, too. I want my videos to feel like we're hanging out having a stitch and bitch. If I can make it, so can you.

Thank you so much, my mom asked me to crochet her one as a Christmas present. So I'll try to make it with your pattern the next few weeks! On a side note: it's amazing, that the original pattern is quite old, a lovely fact :D Thanks for ' translating' it and sharing with us!
Oh, I hope you have fun with them!
Ez iszonyat ronda😢😢😢
Well, okay then.
These are very cute, and I appreciate you sharing the details as to how you made them (especially the double-layering for better heat protection)
Hydrate or dydrate. Love ya <3
Pink is the genius color choice. Pattern is the crazy part of genius. Fabulous!
Thank you! I am very happy to be a giant cotton candy.
I don't crochet (knitter only I'm afraid), but this was so fun to look at that I had to click in!
Oh, I'm glad you gave it a look! I do that with knit sometimes, too. Fun us fun!
She's gorgeous!! Great work!!
Thank you!
Wow! My aunt had a long commute to work in WWII, and crocheted all the way. The original looks like it was heavily starched for added floof.
I starched as well as I could, but I know I don't know the sort of secrets the ladies back then did. They could make anything stand up.
@@icrochetedthething Part of it was boiled starch, and using pins and props to hold the lace until dry. After stretching it to shape.
@@lazygardens Oh, man, precision and a lot of time, no doubt.
this is a cool idea but can't unsee truck nuts. Maybe own it & call it a truckNutz purse. EDIT. so relieved you saw the BAlZak too🤣
Oh, I absolutely saw it the first time I was introduced to the design, and it has made me laugh ever since. I want to make a purse in blue with gold fixings.
Oops meant knit
Oh, typos. They will always sneak in. Congrats on the retirement! I hope you have a great time having the time and energy to stitch!
I love your style and humor. I can’t wait for more. I finally retired and i want to knot and crochet again!
That's such an interesting design. I have never heard of that before. It's interesting to hear the origin of the design. A history can be like a personality. I enjoyed the video.
I'm so glad you liked it! I started collecting vintage patterns just because I like the projects, but I've been caught up in the history whenever I find it now. It's really fun!
that is too cute🎉 I love it. Thank you for creating and sharing😊
Woow this looks so gorggg!! Great job💘
Thank you! The effort really was worth it.
beautiful! crochet skirts are my favorite. the drape is perfect and i love your color choice :)
The pattern says "light and dark" and I went, "Nah, bright and bright." It's a great skirt, and the Cobasi is a beautiful yarn.
This is such a cool set of patterns! this makes me excited to try working with cotton again, but i have so many projects going right now... so many blankets and stash busters and sweaters.... Keep up the good work!! im inspired :^)
Oh, I'm so happy the video made you want to make some stuff! That's the best feeling!
My aunt had that crocheted crinoline doll on her bed . Tacky is one of my favorite shades of nostalgia... also just my favorite 😉
Tacky vintage is so fun. I love it so much. It's funny how often I show the crinoline girl to someone and watch them have intense flashbacks. It's so funny.
That is such a good idea! I love it!
Thanks! Hope it's useful!
Great idea ❤
Aww, thanks!
thank you that's a clever idea
Oh, thanks!
Strange question lol how do you store your yarn? I have a small space.
@@rhondashearer3134 I've got one of those hanging compartments in the closet and a lot of little buckets like you'd use in a kid's room. The buckets can stack pretty okay in a pinch. I also really only buy yarn when I know what I'm doing with it, which can lead to a yarn backlog but not a big build up of stuff that never gets used.
Lol how cute. What kind of dog?
She is a chiweenie! Entirely too clever and very much likes to sit on anything you add to the floor.
Even in the winter time, if you're spending time outdoors and active, you STILL don't want to wear an acrylic top. You need stuff that will wick the sweat away from your body so that when you stop being active you don't get chilled.
An excellent addition, thank you.
LOL
I had the cutest acrylic maternity top. I was in college back then… I literally ripped that thing open because it was trying to kiII me..
I cannot even imagine how awful that must have felt while pregnant. I bet you looked so cute in it, too!
@@icrochetedthething it was super cute.. knit top with a little teddy bear.. I was so sad that I had to rip open the neck but it was the top or me..
Omg can i get that pattern? I love both pairs of shorts.
Oh, absolutely! Sorry for the delay in getting this to you. The file is at the link here, which was the original blog I had on wordpress, hence the different name: grammaredit1242694.files.wordpress.com/2024/01/1970shot-pantsshorts.pdf
Absolutely simple yet beautiful and helpful tip! Thanks 😊
This is so smart
Thank you! I hope it improves your sewing!
Geez...what a great idea!! Just love this, thanks
You're welcome! Hoep it helps you out!
This is so cute! ❤
I know, right?!
This is so pretty! Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome! This reminded me I still have this skirt, in fact, which I need to remember for my next night out.
I love the drape of the skirt. 🥰 I just found your channel, and I love it!
Oh, thank you! The skirt really is fantastic, lots of swing to it.
This is very pretty! Thank you for sharing. I also have a high waist and often patterns have to be altered. So this pattern looks promising!
You're so welcome! I love 1940s patterns because they tend to be high-waisted, so I don't have to figure out if it's gonna hit right.
This was so cool to find!
I really love it. It's especially fun to see what the thing actually looks like when all you have is a drawing.
I love this, I'm suprised it didn't get more likes and more comments! The buttons are awesome!
Oh, thank you! You never know what's going to be interesting for people, really. I just like sharing.
I love these book reviews I've only just found you. I'm off to see more of your videos :)
Oh, thank you! Glad you enjoy them! I haven't done one in awhile, but I do like going through books.
Cool little shoes-thanks for sharing them and a bit of info about how you make them with us.
Oh, you're so welcome! I just have a good time explaining stuff.
Damn cute shorts, though.
Thanks! Really looking forward to making more at some point.
Hahaha I'm pretty sure I have found all the places to sweat from, living down here.
Oh no doubt. That humidity you deal with is a whole different monster.
That is My dress. I've been looking for that pattern for a few months now. I want to make it for my {@#$%}High School Reunion in the Spring!!
Oh, I'm so excited for you! I bet you'll look absolutely stellar!
@@icrochetedthething I can't thank you enough!!! Thank you, again..... 👗 🎓-LOL

Ooh, I love that idea!

I love it so much!!
Thank you! I'm tempted to make a few more, honestly. They're cute and quick and could easily be a wardrobe staple.
Looks good 👍
Thanks! It was a lot of fun to make.
LOL at "in the hopper." Where I'm from in PA, hopper = toilet.
Oh regional dialect strikes again!
Okay, I must learn this filet thing, time to graduate from chain mesh tops, haha!
That sounds like a really easy move! And it's very fun to just do it plain or find patterns.
this top is so cute! 💗
Thank you!

It's such a fun design!
