I loved the intro sequence of this game, the first act, operation hollow storm, loved that assault derick sequence. I am a sucker for assault sequences like them. I also loved the eerie origins sequence, expanding lore also interests me greatly. However I got involved in gears later when 3 came out, feels bad since I didn’t get to really savor it, my bro and I played horde mode for hours, optimizing and doing what needed to be done, never finished the campaign on highest difficulty sadly :(, I did it with him for 2, also sad we never did beast mode, I really want that savage Theron guard

I remember first playing this back in 2008 and as soon as the loading screen loaded up I immediately got goosebumps and said “I know already this is going to be a great game” damn the memories I had playing this…

I still remember playing this at my friend's house way back in 2008. It legit terrified me. Think about it. This is it, every defense has failed, the last city is burning, the night has falling, society has collapsed, the monsters are advancing, Humanity is going extinct.

I miss this game

Played this so damn much. Was in middle school, home and free for christmas break 2008, it was really cold, so me and my brother had the heater on, huddled in blankets playing this for hours and hours. So many memories, cutting through the insides of the worm, trudging through the wasteland and destroyed cities with delta squad, the frozen lake, Maria's death!!, poor Tai, fun sniping, the lambent, spooky leviathan in the water, falling stalactites when fighting skorge, riding the Brumak! So much fun man. So much fun.

God. . . I just finished the Campaign again for the Guide achievement and I still hate how I couldn't take the Admiral with me.

I remember playing this with my cousin the last part I remember was us driving on the ice level , sadly we never finished it together.
