I know the generation after this one I rode was the H6 but I'm glad that they're not retiring the T1 yet but I am upset that that the last 5h broke down on its last trip in toronto
they should have kept a few train sets for the BD line as spares as the H5 A/C worked in them better then the T1 trains they could have done what NYC did keep 2 of each type of train and ran them on special days but TTC waste so much money ect joint H1 H2 H3 H4 H5 in a train set ran them on special days but more so should have kept some of the G trains
From memories of riding these, I will have to say these were my favorite subway cars the TTC had. I still remember when they had yellow seats as well. I miss being able to reject riding a T1, and wait a bit for an H5 to come. Now, I'd be lucky to get a T1 on the Yonge Line. The H5's were great cars, however, it was clear that by the end it was time for them to go, or they needed to be rebuilt. They broke down quite often. I can't say the TR's are any better though. As previously mentioned, the H5's were quite quick in many aspects. Acceleration was quite abrupt, and the doors opened and closed very quickly. They were built just right for transit needs. The TR's are way too safety enhanced, and counteract their additional room by running slower, which means lower train frequencies. The doors take around an extra 10 seconds to open and close! The point is, they are far too computerized and are not simplistic like transit vehicles are supposed to be. I will miss the days when the TR's didn't rule the Yonge-University-Spadina line. What utter pieces of crap.
Really I Know MTA Has Older Subway Cars Build From 1964 to 85 I Think But Why Not TTC did not Rebuild Them with H6 Darn By Next Month the H6 Last Run Would Be?
Recently saw Toronto Rocket 5791, along with 5796, what a bummer. I can't believe the H5s got replaced by such slow moving pieces of junk. Why call them Toronto Rockets, and not Toronto Turtles? At least they both start with T.
Unless they finish replacing or retrofitting their signals. That way they can possibly add TRs to the Bloor Danforth line, as they say they will be able to being in more trains for the schedule.
Sorry about that, by mid-late 2014, the Yonge-University-Spadina line (Y-U-S) line will be entirely served by brand new subway trains - the Toronto Rockets (TR), as the T1 trains will all be moved onto the Bloor-Danforth and Sheppard lines. The reason why the TR's will not be running on the Bllor-Danforth line is because the T1's are fairly good trains and had been in service for over 15 years and the TR's are designed to carry 10% more riders on the already congested Y-U-S line.
Also the Sheppard line T1 trains are four-car sets and the TR's cannot fit on that line since the cars are a six-car fixed configuration with no seperators between cars, and they cannot run on that line until then leghten the platforms or if they were to ever purchase four-car fixed TR trainsets.
You're wrong, by mid-late 2014, the Yonge-University-Spadina (Y-U-S) line will be entirely served by Toronto Rockets (TR) - TTC's brand new trains, as the T1's will all be moved onto the Bloor-Danforth (B-D) and Sheppard lines, the reason why the TR's will be on those other lines is because the T1's are only 15 years old and are in fairly good condition and the TR's are designed to carry 10% more people on the already congested Y-U-S line.
The reason why they have no immediate plans on placing any TR trains on the Blood line, for two reasons, The T1's have only been around for over 15 years now and the new TR s are needed for the YUS is because its considered the busiest subway line in Toronto and has 10% more capacity unlike the older TTC trains
Once all the new Toronto Rocket cars arrive, the YUS line will be serviced exclusively by TR trains, while the Bloor-Danforth and Sheppard lines will use T1's exclusively .
Oh, if he showed up and freaked out, I probably would've filmed him and then send the video and some of his worst videos to that BN engineer from Seattle. I bet that everybody there would be pissed beyond belief! lolz! When the train broke down, some of our group waited for two TRs to pass in the hopes of getting a T1 to Wilson, but they gave up when the third one showed up. It added insult to injury when the H5 "choked" like the Leafs and the TRs were the only trains after them lol! :P
Well, it went well until the train broke down, we had lots of fun, and that Rampaul guy stayed well away from us. I think he knew that he'd get decked by someone if he showed up lol! :P
And then Eko Rail of Nigeria backed away from the deal and the H5s were scrapped in Buffalo sadly
From memories of riding these
rip
Why H5 NOOOOOO COME BACK
When Is The T1 Train Retried?
2026 It’s going to be replaced by Toronto Rocket 2
T-1 is way better, I don't miss these
I know the generation after this one I rode was the H6 but I'm glad that they're not retiring the T1 yet but I am upset that that the last 5h broke down on its last trip in toronto
Why was a T1 on Wilson first
In mta, our old trains last for about 50 or even 60 years!
awwwwww......... who CARES
THAT IS STRANGE all the other subway cars could have been sold and reused also ..taxpayer assets ..rather than go to HAMILTON SCRAP YARDS FOR PENNIES
My friend went on the h6 farewell
Why couldn't you just scrap the H5 train? it's old.
they should have kept a few train sets for the BD line as spares as the H5 A/C worked in them better then the T1 trains they could have done what NYC did keep 2 of each type of train and ran them on special days but TTC waste so much money ect joint H1 H2 H3 H4 H5 in a train set ran them on special days but more so should have kept some of the G trains
why is there a T1 as the first shot and not a H5?
Idk
The H5 Train Didn't broke Down At Egilnton Station It broke down At Egilnton WEST Station
CBC made a mistake

Can you imagine how many normal commuters got on this train not knowing that this was the H5's last trip. It's sad...
+TotalGamerNerd 9433 yep:(
And It broke Down At Egilnton West Station :(
H5 KEEP IT
wasn't that a T1? because the gates look like it was from a t1.
+its Martin no the gate of the t1 and h5 look the same
the h5 has a big fat hole in the middle.

+RailfanDaniel Looks like were going to nigeria
The T1 is no longer in the YUS line, so I have to say that T1s on the YUS line are memories.
Why can't there be an "H7"?
@@andyyang2718 That would be cool, at least one we can walk between cars!! I would like that!!
@@andyyang2718 The H7 doesnt exist because of hawker getting sold to bombardier, so technically, the T1 could be the H7
H5 Train

Why is every first letter capitalized?
Recently saw Toronto Rocket 5791, along with 5796, what a bummer. I can't believe the H5s got replaced by such slow moving pieces of junk. Why call them Toronto Rockets, and not Toronto Turtles? At least they both start with T.
Ikr! The TORONTO ROCKET IS GARBAGE! I WANT THEM TO BE REPLACED BY THE T1s!!!!!!!
Why did the TTC retire these trains if they were still fully operational?
BTW you Would Love to Live in New york City MTA Subway They have Some Subway Trains From the 1960's Late 1960's & Early 1970's & Late 1970's
+Railfan Peter plus a transit museum
The final run for the H6 train will probably be around Q1 2014, if the TR train deliveries go ahead as planned.
when's that (final H6 run) happening?
Or they could just transfer more T1s instead of more TRs.
Unless they finish replacing or retrofitting their signals. That way they can possibly add TRs to the Bloor Danforth line, as they say they will be able to being in more trains for the schedule.

now there getting new trains for to replace the t1's in 5 or so years :(

I'm glad I have at least one vid of the H5, Plus a couple pics. ;)
Thanks. If they give the date for the last H6 ride, I'm going there. A couple people I know are joining too.
0:31 anyone know him? I might meet him on the H6's final ride, along with Andy Byford or Brad Ross.
His name is Jeffrey
The T1's will be moved to the Shepard line once the TR's replace them. Them the whole service will be replaced with TR's.
Alex it's Bloor, not blood. Perhaps your auto check came along.

Then the h6, then the T1. Then all we'll be riding is just toronto rockets. Damn you Bombardier! >:[
Damn I'm gonna miss these babies. If I had known when they were gonna retire them I would've gone out and made the trip.
wow i cant believe they got rid of these trains , why not just keep one h5 train and let it run on the younge line
Congratz for getting on national tv man!
Yes, finally no Alex Rampaul
yeah I heard it broke down at Eglinton West...that was shitty.

yeah....at least no Rampaul horror stories came about lol :P

Too bad I missed out on the final H5 ride, but I still have the videos and photos to remember them by...
I was the guy dressed in the blue railway uniform! :D
