I don't suppose you have many 72 year old female viewers but I have a huge liking for early Falcons. I only have direct experience with two Falcons, my mum's XK Fordomatic Sedan and my own XR 500 Cruise-o-matic sedan. Both were purchase second hand, my mum's was 12 years old and still in great condition and mine was 18 years old and a bit worse for wear. I loved them both, they just seemed to agree with me. I really like the way you work and it's great to see you bringing such an uncommon model back to life in a realistic manner. I also make the occasional video and I know how time consuming it is so I value the effort it takes for you to make them. I always enjoy your videos. The chicken chase and cooking made me laugh. 😊👍👌
Thanks for your comment Pauline! Yeah, I guess I probably don’t have to many 72 year old females watching my videos. I do know of a couple of ladies who watch & also love their early falcons. Yes the videos do take some time to make, as you are aware, but I enjoy the process of it all, almost as much as I enjoy working on my cars Thanks again & I’m happy you’re enjoying my channel 😊
Your best video by far I always enjoy your videos mate love the chicken gag don’t you love the simplicity of the old ford 179 pursuit 221 250 engines I have 100% confidence that you can freshen the old power plant up the old pushrod set up I can no longer do what you do so I guess in a way watching your videos still keeps the mental side of things working
Thanks a lot Russ, always appreciate your comments mate Cheers
The Dazman pretty handy with the spay gun and rattle can I love the simplicity really of the old ford front ends great job
Thanks & yeah they’re reasonable simple… suits me down to the ground
Happy new year champ good to see you again you picked up a pommie suntan mate lol
Happy new year to you too. Lol.Unfortunately I live with the Pommie suntan
allways enjoy ya videos cobber making progress good stuff.dont supose u have another 220 engine for sale ,need one for my xm ute.bought it wiyhout the corect engine got a 250 xflow in it dont think it will pass rego inspecion with it.anyhow cheers for video keep em coming
Thanks for your comment mate! Sorry I don’t have another 221, I have 3 - 170cu & 1 - 250cu pre cross flow engines
Do u have 1 u would sell mate?. The 170..
@ At this stage I’m going to hold onto the 170’s mate..
good work mate thanks for the video
Thanks mate, much appreciated
Making good progress, awesome 👍
Thanks 👍
Thanks
Cheers
how is the penatrol a year later?
Good, see my answer to your earlier question Cheers
how does the penatrol look a year later?
Good 👍
How longs that penatrol last? 400 too rough? Great vid thank mate
It’s lasted pretty well on the Futura but it’s been stored in the shed. It’s a different story with the Xd Wagon ( see rust prevention video) which has a rust covered roof & lives outside. 400 might be a little course, probably 600 would be the go Cheers
Considering one of these on yhe weekend thats 5 bours away. Your getting me keen!
If it’s a complete car, in reasonable condition & the price is right 😉
Another great video, thankyou
Thanks mate
Looking good. I definitely think it is worth doing properly. 👍
Yeah I get impatient, but I know I’m doing the right thing by the car, just want to get it done and back on the road
@@deadheadshed Yes. And better not to have to re do it again down the track. 👍
Very true 👍
Thanks for the update.
No worries mate
Good to see you again Dazza What a great video, yes cars are a bottomless pit but in saying so it's your project you have a budget be silly paining a nice engine bay then putting a tired looking engine in Love the old falcons simple not all this modern computer stuff Look after yourself mate till your next video cheers
Thanks Russ, always appreciate your comments mate👍 Cheers
nice job, good progress 😀
Thanks mate
Care to share where you purchased your front bumpers? thanks
I bought it through a local wrecker who got hold of it new. I’m pretty sure they’re available on eBay or see if your local parts guy can get one Cheers
It's the ideal time to paint the components when it is all apart and it will look so much nicer. I think it had to be done really. Excellent video. 😊👍
Thanks & yes that was my way of thinking, get them painted while they’re out! Glad you liked the video 👍
Slow.y but surely you’ll get there. 👍
Thanks Mark
Great video. It’s a lot of time consuming work that goes into doing pieces that mostly don’t get seen, but they need to be done.
Thanks mate.. you’re not wrong, takes a while cleaning them up
Welcome back Dazza, Had the same issue with the wising machine caustic eats away the cast my grandmother use to dissolve the soap powder in a bucket first I don't see many people using an epoxy primer over the rust convertor for better adhesive that roll of rubber worth a bit now Clark Rubbers expensive stay safe mate nice job on the diff
Always seams to be something around here that needs fixing, besides cars! The castor rods I had primer on were a spare set which I painted a year or so ago, no rust converter under. I bought the rubber around 10 years ago, cheap back then. Thanks mate
I like it when things fix themselves. I’ve already tried that with mine. Now I got to get out the chains.😂
Yep me too
How to put air in your Ford tractor tire How to put a battery in your Ford tractor How to put fuel in your Ford tractor 🤔
Would ended of being a 3 minute video without these other How to 😉
It just goes to show what can be done. It looks very good and the paint will probably fade to match the rest of the car anyway. The headlight repair would have saved some money too. 😊👍
I’m happy with how it all turned out. Yeah I expect the paint may fade a bit but I’m not really worried. I appreciate your comment 👍
Cathy Freeman goin for a jog
Don’t know what that means
That trim is from 1980
Yeah ok Have you seen it in a particular car ?
am loving the content, and am interested in getting a 65 falcon. Can you give any pointers as to where is best to look. I live in Brisbane. Cheers
Thanks for that 👍 There are some good xk xl xm xp early falcon Facebook groups & for sale groups, give them a go Cheers facebook.com/share/4q965n5it1gJRygJ/?mibextid=lOuIew facebook.com/share/83zFga7adAYYAqGY/?mibextid=lOuIew
At least you’re making progress and it is good to show the mistakes. Everyone is human. 👍
And I edit out a lot of my mistakes 😁
I've really enjoyed the series on the XM so far and find your laid back approach very easy to watch. I think you are correct about the upholstery. It looks like an 70s or 80s makeover to me. My mother had a green XK Fordomatic sedan in the mid to late 1970s. I drove it often and I just loved it. I thought it went quite well and I didn't mind the 2 speed at all. The interior with the lovely white and chrome steering wheel, as well as the brocade inserts in the seats, was a delight. I have an Austin A60 that I have spent years re-furbishing and I can really relate to some of the work you are doing although the Austin didn't go through a flood and was much cleaner. I fitted polyurethane bushes in the front suspension and they have been excellent with no squeaking. I think the key is to use the proper grease with them. It needs to be a silicone or PTFE base so that it doesn't react with the plastic. Petroleum based grease will weaken the bushes and cause them to fail. Really looking forward to seeing the progress on this excellent car. 😊👍
Thanks very much for your comment! I appreciate your tip regarding the lube for the polyurethane bushes, sounds like the way to go, cheers 👍
I initially found your channel a while back when I bought my XM project Ute. Even though I subscribed at the time I’d forgotten about it until this week. I’ve just watched all the Futura vids and I thoroughly enjoyed them. Plus I learnt a great deal in tackling my own project. Thanks for filming and posting. I love your knock about persona and simplistic approach.
Thanks mate! I’m glad you are enjoying my video’s & I appreciate you letting me know that, cheers 👍
Great progress mate,she's coming together.
Getting there slowly.. thanks mate 👍
Great work, like the way you got that bolt off stilsins way to go great weld jobs too great to watch thanks
Thanks for that mate, I appreciate your comment 👍
Good to use old cars to make panels to keep even older cars alive.
100% 👍 Cheers
I done my valiant with that deadener & mixed fish oil & thinners with it. Applied it with a conventional spray gun. It done the job well. Watching you there, I believe that the applicator you had allows you better control of material although not as fast as a conventional gun.
Thanks mate I was considering using a regular spray gun but the guns I have I want to keep for just painting Cheers 👍
Nice to see you back Dazza that stuff in a tin is nasty messy shit never fully hardens goes like licorice exposed to heat used it years ago on an XY degreased an engine the degreaser blew back dissolved it a mess everywhere. nice welding repair the donor cars coming in handy I heard the hammer hit your hand from here OUCH take care till next time mate,
Thanks mate. Yeah I don’t think I’ll use the sound deadener stuff again, was a pain in the neck Cheers mate
@@deadheadshed I've been out of the game for a long time but back in the day there was spray on stuff that used on my XD that actually hardens. If you go one better, you paint over it with a matt black paint. Look for stone guard, not that deadener stuff Daz.
Thanks mate, that’s something to think about 👍
Man if this works on mine I'm gonna owe you a dept of gratitude! Gonna try it tomorrow. 🤞
Yeah give it go, just let it warm up & hopefully it works for you Good luck & let me know how you go Cheers
My clutch pedal is not engaging but I can force the shifter into 1st and reverse. I’m going to let it warm up and slam it in gear to drive it around and hopefully my clutch plate releases or whatever. Thank you sir.
@@livingproof9622warm it up first. Turn it off. Put it into first gear. Start it up. I worked the clutch pedal in & out when it was moving Cheers
Is it rude to ask what you paid for the old girl?
Are you looking to buy or sell one?
Buddy the XXXX might fix the engine issues that stuff is nasty nasty 4x4 too
Got that right

I remember when I worked at Mitsubishi when we transitioned from the L200 to the Triton. I worked in the Distribution Dept and used to order all the vehicles for NSW.
Yeah ok! Bit of a difference between the L200 & the Triton, different market
@@deadheadshed L200 was the same market just older. Cab chassis, ute, 4x2, 4x4, Petrol, Diesel. Maybe you are thinking of L300 - the van range?
@markbehr88 lol I was thinking it was a van
Windsor is a way better engine just need to put race heads on

I remember those Ford tractors in rural Ford dealerships. I wouldn’t mind one of those. 👍
They’re a pretty reliable tractor
@@deadheadshed Do they come up for sale often? What sort of money do they go for?
I’m not to sure, I bought this local to me 7-8 years ago for about $6500
@@deadheadshed Right, so they are still worth a few bucks. Be good to see it get a bit of a polish and tidy up. It is certainly worth doing. I enjoyed the episode. Wish it was longer. 👍
@markbehr88 thanks mate I feel if it were longer there would be even less viewers, 😂 Cheers
Lovely work mate 👌👍 have you got a link to that air sander that you bought ? I want one cheers
