I literally just play major scales. I've been learning and thinking about music theory a lot over the last couple of days, and I really needed to practice major scales so I can have a better understanding of the spatial relationship between notes on the fretboard. Maybe not so fun to watch, but it will allow me to make much better music later on and I wanted to document this step. #acousticguit...

I picked up this short scale bass for my classroom today and wanted to test it out with fun Jackson 5 tune. It feels very freeing to play on a 4 string after trying to learn on a 5 string!

I'm trying to get better with a plectrum

I got asked last minute to sit in with some buddies and I had such a fun time doing it. Our start time got pushed from 12:10 to 1am but I'm glad I stuck it out and got to jam on a full talking heads set list. After we finished, a couple kids asked for one more song so I did a little C# minor jam into thriller with the drummer. Overall it was a great night

This was a super fun one to write today. I was feeling excited about everything going on this weekend and I feel like that showed in this fun little tune. I'm also loving playing on the bari and the depth of sound I can get there, we'll see what's next!

2 hours into learning this song by up-and-coming musician Aviram. I love this composition and I get why he smiles every time he plays those high pitch triplets. Through this, I practiced Hendrix style bar chords which frees up the pinky to reach farther #aviram #acousticguitar

I tried out one of my long time favorite jazz standards on flute today. I'm most comfortable playing this on alto but wanted to push outside the box a bit by trying it on a different instrument. I'm feeling great about how my tone and technique are coming along on flute. I still am noticing that I need to adjust my alignment though so I'll practice in front of a mirror more this week.

Take it easy on me i learned this song like 4 hours ago and it has 2 tricky chords that made my hands hurt. I'm definitely thinking about doing a full length version with a full instrumental backing

I needed a fast paced drum beat and some fun chords after a bit of a stressful day of school. I had a student throw a glass vase on the floor so I needed to do 4 laps around the school with the students while waiting for everything to get cleaned up. Then while I was filming this after school, some students were fighting on the way to dismissal. Hopefully next week is a little smoother!

Sammy Rae dropped her new album today and I just wanted to have some fun on one of my favorite songs from it. I'll be listening to it a lot in the coming weeks!!
