4 door Camaro before the Camaro 🫶🏾, cant wait to get one. Owning a Pontiac and being from from Pontiac owning one of these is a goal 💯
Do you have any 1/4 trap speeds with the kit? Thinking about going from a torque storm bloser to this setup, not sure if itll be worth it or not through a m6 and 3.91s
Best thing to do would be to contact Kevin on Facebook. He owns Cartunning Performance and would be able to tell you everything. There is a G8 in Canada that made 1200whp with this same kit if that helps.
And that’s through an auto trans…

Still going strong, I got the gauge pod from eBay. It’s an OE HSV part that was an option on the commodore

Old video but what coolant overflow tank did you use? Any details on how you swapped over from the stock setup to the current one that let's you have the boost pipe pass through?
It actually came with the kit, so I’m not sure of the brand. The great thing about the G8’s over flow is it’s not pressurized, so really you can use whatever tank you want. Then I just used some coolant hose to change the routing to where it is now. Originally I used a moroso tank, but I prefer the look of this one.

Exactly, just pick a spot and tank you like run the hose and you are good to go 👍🏻

It’s been holding up very well, no issues with any part of the kit. Im actually kind of surprised because I also do track days (circuit course) and lap after lap nothing has gone wrong with the kit. It is a t4 kit, but he has made a few with T6 also for some guys in the U.S for an extra cost. Overall very happy with the quality of the kit.

Still have it, cam is custom grind by Kevin at Cartunning Performance, I don’t remember the specs. And it has the Cartunning turbo kit that he makes also 👍🏻

I know that this is going back in time however, I am very seriously looking at this kit and have only have one reservation. I am on the Western Canadian prairies and it does get very dusty here in the summer. Based on your headlight mod, approx how much room remains for a cone filter? thanks!
You would have enough room to fit a small cone filter

I only have one right off the down pipe from the turbo. It’s on the drivers basically where your feet are.

Any idea how much extra oil to add in order to fill the lines and the cooler? I
I pre-filled mine when I installed it and it took about 3/4 of a quart. Probably a full quart of oil if you include the oil in the lines

there’s this g8 gt im looking at for $9,500 with 155k miles on it with cai. long tube headers. magnaflow exhaust system and a tune and it’s been taking care of. guy bought it in 2011 and put 75k miles on it he rarely drives it now and it is garage kept but idk how reliable the g8s are. what are your thoughts on it ? should i take the chance?
Ask him if he’s done the dod lifters on it if he has yes go for it, over all the v8 power train in the cars is solid. As long as there’s no abnormal noises and oil coolant all look good I think you should be good 👍🏻

Yes, they come with a rubber washer to dampen the vibration

So do you only have one header hooked up to the turbo? Looking to turbo mine in the future and there aren't many single turbo builds out there
Both headers feed the turbo, one header is a pass through we’re the other header flows through it. If you’re interested it’s a kit you can buy , it’s made by Cartunning Performance.

Hey man I was looking through some of your videos and I notice you have different gauges installed all the ones I'm seeing for oil pressure and some other things requires you to take the factory sensor out does that throw a check engine code and if it does how do you get a around it any help appreciated
All my gauges came with their own sensors, I installed my oil temp sensor by drilling and tapping my oil pan, oil pressure sensor is installed off the valley plate with a fitting that allows you to mount the stock sensor and the sensor for the gauge. Basically all my oem sensors are still in place and I installed all the sensors for the gauges separately.

I would definitely recommend it, 4 years with track days and no problems. Have you seen the video of the the Camaro kit? Exactly the same as the G8 went low 10’s at 139 with a 6 speed manual. Stock motor, no cam head work nothing just bolted the kit up. if it was an auto that mph would get you a mid to high 9 on a bone stock motor!
