Mitutoyo SD-D1E (572-011) Digital Read Out (DRO)
Dating from the late 1990s or 2000s, this DRO unit accepts SPC signals from Mitutoyo SPC output-capable tools. I bought it unsure if works, but it's completely functional and interfaces beautifully with my Mitutoyo Digimatic Caliper (500-171-30). It should also read from my Mitutoyo Quantumike (293-180-30) but I'll need the correct SPC cable.
I couldn't find any documentation online about the SD-D1E, but it's very simple to operate. They pop-up on eBay from time to time, so grab one if you can find it for a decent price!

Metrology: Mitutoyo QuantuMike 0-1" Overview (Order Number 293-180-30)

A quick overview of the Mitutoyo QuantuMike 0-1" micrometer (Order Number 293-180-30). I also own the non-QuantuMike version with it's slower spindle speed (Order Number 293-348-30). Both mikes have the same accuracy, but the QuantuMike is lighting fast by comparison. The QuantuMikes are not much more expensive that the standard model and there are no major drawbacks.

Our two Greyhounds Oro & Arthur had a blast chasing my Traxxas E-Revo 2.0 RC car across a dry lakebed. I mounted a GoPro Hero3 to the top of the E-Revo and aimed it backwards so we could see what the prey might see. Greyhounds are very fast, with Arthur being clocked in at 33 mph!
