When the MLS first started, it was definitely not popular but since the 2008 world cup and the 2014 world cup as well, soccer has started to become more and more popular here. Atlanta United I think has made soccer really exciting. When they open the upper levels of the stadium, the crowd capacity is around 70,000 to 73,000 and they sell out too.

Soccer is an extremely popular youth sport. Believe me, here its everywhere as a youth sport. Just not on the pro level. We still dotn care really, it's only atlanta and Seattle unfortunately. MLS needs to market to more areas

Fifa 20 doesn't reflect how hype our stadiums apmostpher is, also its soccer down here. Our Football team is the Falcons and our soccer team is ATL UNITED but just the same great sports

@@zstoor21 this is not a soccer specific stadium though it can host soccer matches. Just about every other MLS franchise with the exception of New England, Seattle, and Portland , play in a stadium built specifically for soccer.

They had the highest average attendance in the MLS by far. Since most clubs _(NY City will probably never escape the Yankee, a f**ki' baseball park)_ moved into soccer-specific Stadiums. The thing with these stadiums is that they didn't have very much trust in the future of football/soccer in North America. All these new stadiums are very well made. For example LAFC, who moved in directly before the season started. The owner of LAFC asked the fans _(mostly former Chivas US supporters, Deportivo Guadalajara, Liga MX Hispanics),_ on how the stadium should look like especially the section for the Ultras _(yes they even had two ultras groups before the first match!)_ about how their stands should be designed. I know that LA Galaxy is the most successful team in the MLS history But they don't even play in the city of Los A😊ngeles. Which isn't that uncommon in US sports._(Red Bull New York, the Jets and Giants all play NJ.)_ Galaxy attracts families and suburbian lifestyle White people. While LAFC attracts inner city people and about 90% Latinos. So both clubs definitely have a _"reason/right"_ to exist. I never quite understand why they dissolved Chivas US! Latino love football/soccer and they closed down the club that attracted most Latinos. In an environment with a huge Latino population.

Seriously this is so badass! I would love to check out a game there! I wish other clubs could get this support... I’m a Dynamo fan and we have a decent following but nothing in the MLS compares to the Atlanta atmosphere!
