pretty much anytime after the 6 to 8 month range a deck can be cleaned and stained. anytime it is stained it protects the wood from the elements and sun.. As a professional cleaner we use products that are not home depot type of things. I could not tell you what they have that would work because we buy our sodium percarbonate, hydroxide and ocilic acid in bulk from a industry distributor to get the best price and quality product to use. We have taken a very old deck that was still structural sound and cleaned and stained to give it more life.

@@webcrawler3332 I have a couple that I use surkoat makes a water based and a solvent based that works well. There is a water based sealer that comes from a local epoxy coating supplier that works very well.

No it just gets done over and over again. At one time the floor was painted red. By the time we got there it was mostly worn off. Now it gets cleaned 2 to 3 times a year. Even with sealing it will not keep the grease from building up.

just old fashioned bleach and a surfactant to help lift dirt and stick to the surface while the bleach does its magic

that was about 3 percent sodium hypochlorite and a soap and degreaser mix. Even though it was bad i felt that doing a 2nd scrub was better then just raising the strength of the bleach.

about the same here in middle tn. you can do residential flat work in a couple of different ways. by square feet and measure or by looking on google maps and estimating car lengths and charge a certain amount for each car length. The problem with the second way is sometimes you loose out and some times you do well depending on what you think it looks like.

not a teach but a demonstration of how you can clean a soft surface with so little pressure you can safely have you body in between the pressure and surface. this is not a teaching channel.

you can etch the concrete if 1. the concrete is soft and not fully hardened. or 2 acids can etch the concrete. Etching is taking a layer off of the top of the concrete and can leave permanent lines in the concrete because you have taken a small top layer of in such a way that it is noticeable

i was just thinking yesterday i need to do a new one looking at it and the wood fence i cleaned and partially sealed

that is just plain old bleach. mixed in a pump up sprayer. You can go to a dollar general or even a home depot and get a concentrated bleach. Mix the bleach with water with a small amount of laundry detergent in a pump up sprayer and spray on let sit and rinse off with a hose.

I use the same mix pre and post treat. Is it necessary having soap not really but easier then changing it just shoot and go

@@tlcfloorcareandpressurewas335 Thank you! I wasn't sure if they were different or not. I figure that using the soap solution would be good to mask the scent of the bleach smell. But I wasn't sure if it would make the concrete sticky once it soaked into the ground (or something weird), etc... Thank you!

well if it is yours personally then the best you can do is seal it and try to save and seal in as much as you can. if it a client then you have to tell them that it is a bandage on a failing driveway. we looked at one last year that you could rub it with your foot and it would break apart. I was not going to take his money and do a job that i knew was not going to help and not stick, that's bad business. some times you cant fix things with just a seal. If the surface is coming up or the stones are coming out unless you want to glue everyone of them back down by hand and seal that then nothing may help.

i have not signed up for it yet but am considering going as its just down the road. The more i am in this industry the more i see big "experts" selling crap chemicals and equipment to make money off of new folks and just plain old bad information along with a $299 course. Now i did years ago go to a UAMCC event that i got to hear keith kafres speak about RUclips which i started my channel that day. and coach carroll who is always worth hearing speak.

i use for new wood sodium percarbonate to clean and oxalic acid to bring the wood back to a PH neutral balance

@@johnworkman5951 we used a sodium percarbonate at about 2 cups per 5 gallons and oxcilic acid at 2 1/2 to 3 cups per 5 gallons of water

surface cleaners can be bought at any pressure washing supply place or even northern tool has them

well there is a way to make that but it involves adding pigments to a clear. i have not had the opportunity to do one like that yet myself

there are a couple of ways most of the time a strong stripper or very harsh caustic or acid type of product will strip it out, heated water helps but most of the time easier to clean and just seal the entire driveway to "disappear" the marks.
