I just discovered your channel about 20 minutes ago when I viewed your video on Degrees of Freedom. I was hesitant to click on this video out of fear that something might be said that would keep me from rewatching the first one. I'm so happy that I put that fear away and clicked this one. Your sharing of your exploration of the early church is beacon in a sea of Christian apologetics that, more often than not, pits one against another, more concerned with who's right with this or that Biblical translation and/or denomination when it's love of our enemies, of each other, and love of God that matters most.

Thank you, Merv! I have also done a lot of thinking about holding the Bible to such esteem, and have adjusted my thinking on that. God, the Holy Spirit, nature, etc speak so loudly when we allow them to.

How about making sense about a father that would nail his only son to a cross to receive one of the worst things know to man.

I have lived my life, especially in my youth, as an optimist. And as such I can appreciate what you are saying. Sometimes I think along these lines and wonder if faith will overcome. I don't want to believe in eternal damnation, even for my worst enemy. The mere thought is quite disturbing to me. But I believe in the Bible. And as such I cannot dismiss it. Trust in God is the best I can do.

Most texts regarding Hell are from Jesus himself and concern the destruction of the temple and the end of the old covenant.

I was getting so frustrated and couldn’t understand how some of us really get it and others don’t at all, and we’ve been in the same fellowship for years. @mikwilpir6940 pls don't take Merv's comments about COVID as bias, he doesn't have a mean bone in his body and he is certainly the opposite. At the time of filming remote communities were being encouraged to get vaccinated and many ATSI health workers wearing COVID-10 Team TShirts: endorsed by NACCHO. It might not seem like it today: late November 2022 and wow, how we have moved on: but those comments were really relevant in 2021, and I hope readers don't take this video out of context. On another matter, I hope you find time to embody this technique it is amazing how our imagination can get us into trouble and how amazing it is how our imagination can get us out of trouble.
