I know I’m late but I think the theory about it being his scuicide book is more possible considering that he’s always saying he read new ways to commit in there but he also says he’s read it more then 15 times. We also know that the bandages if he were the book would have nothing to do with that unless they were covering the words. This is proven in BSD WAN when he buys new bandages in bulk to replace his now ones. Though I think throughout the story the bandages are just to represent stuff. For example the bandages over his eye was to represent him being in the PM. I think the other bandages even though he doesn’t cut himself because that would go against his no pain in scuicide rule would be to symbolize his scuicidal nature. But I do agree with this part and here is my evidence: The book never working on Dasani in the beast AU it’s admitted that beast Dazai has original Dadaist memories because of his nullification ability. But that would mean that the book is and ability, product of an ability (like Q's doll), or causes/ creates abilities. And I feel that the book can and can’t create other universes, this is because in beast because of his nullification Dazai can remember OG Dazais memories which would mean he would still be there. So I would think it would be that the book can change reality but it would either always or only when it’s a big change make a layer universe that is connected to the first.
