Fun Fact: Tim Allen originally wanted his co-star Elizabeth Mitchell to play his wife in Last Man Standing. Elizabeth said at WonderCon fan convention in 2011 that Tim sent her the pilot script after he vouched for her to the show's producers. Apparently Elizabeth was willing to agree but due to the schedule of the V series production, she wasn't allowed to do it. When the Santa Clauses series premiered in 2022, Elizabeth and Tim both said that working together again has been their biggest hope since the Santa Clause 3 film. Considering the close professional and personal relationship Elizabeth and Tim have always had, I was not surprised that he asked her first! Nancy Travis was decent but Elizabeth would've been the right choice for the role because she would've made Vanessa's character completely different from average female sitcom characters. Elizabeth's bubbly and giggly personality and her grounded and exceptional acting talents would've bee a huge asset for the show. Out of all Tim's co-stars, Elizabeth Mitchell is the best because those balance each other both on-screen and off-screen with Tim's comedic balancing Elizabeth's more grounded performances and their overwhelming trust, respect, admiration and love which makes them exceptional dynamic duo.
