Review of Zline 48” stove
I’ve had this Zline since spring of 2021 and have had and used it for more than 6mo. I love it but wish for a few improvements. I don’t regret it’s purchase but just don’t expect super gourmet stove. Otherwise excellent quality.

Working on weaning our calves
Просмотров 463 года назад
I had planned to wean them when I started this video in January but then we got a bunch of snow and they had a touch of cold symptoms so I decided to keep them on one bottle a day with the apple cider vinegar. It helped them to keep gaining weight and stay healthier. Cows can stay with their mother and on milk for months so extending their bottle feedings won’t hurt them. The industry typically...

Our Farmhouse Kitchen Remodel: Part 1 - The Demo

This is the initial demolition of our old farm house kitchen. Our home is about 100 years old. It had been a sheriff sale flip a few years back. The flipper had tiled over 5 layers of glued on floors and a rotten layer of thin plywood underlayment. He also put in a false ceiling and another wall over the old existing plaster. But we are down to studs now!! So excited!

This is a quick video about how I care for bottle calves - I am not an expert or highly experienced with cattle but this is some tips I’ve picked up this week from research, local farmer friends, and first hand experience. There wasn’t enough content for me to watch before I took the dive and brought these guys home so I thought I’d share my experience. I see my audio is a little off track from...

The small.oven is so awesome. Best size for small meals. Also, a small screwdriver came withbthe oven. You can fine tune the flame on each burner with the screw under each knob.
@@chuckheinch yes I have since learned about adjusting the burners. :) I rarely use the small over but it’s handy when there are big meals and I need two ovens
Can anyone with the 48” from the video report on heating time for the large oven? It’s taking 45-60 min to get to 500f. I’ve read online that the typical or average is 15-20 min in other ovens.
@@DoinZip um I don’t go to 500 almost ever. But 350 is like 15min give or take with the large oven side. Depends if it’s summer or winter tho. And my house temps.
Thank you for this review! planning to surprise the Boss with her kitchen upgrade.
@@junlorenzana4493 it’s been years and I still love it. Only complaint is the oven doesn’t cook evenly but I just turn things so it’s fine. Gas burners are great
FYI!!!! After you clean the stove range apply a thick coating of vaseline and any spill will clean up and won’t “stain” the range!! It was a game changer when cleaning!!
Was she a freemartin?
@@anthonycorona8946 no but we didn’t end up breeding her.
WAy more than what the package suggests... And asking for scours... egg is good and apple cider vinegar.. Your making this way harder than needs to be ;). Doubt you did this for four months twice a day :)
I have a Zline Dual Fuel Gas Range (Model RA48, approximately 2020-2021) with dual electric ovens. I'm struggling to calibrate the oven temperature. The range has no digital readout panel-just knobs-and there’s no information online or in the user manual for calibrating this model. The issue is that when the knob is set to 350°, the oven reaches 425°, as verified with two separate oven thermometers. The sliding thermometer inside the oven doesn’t seem to make a difference, no matter where I position it. Additionally, the knob itself doesn’t appear to have any calibration adjustment. When I removed the screws from the knob, it just came loose as if for replacement, but there was no mechanism for adjustment that I can see. If anyone knows how to fix this, your help would be greatly appreciated. I can’t reach support until Monday, so I’m hoping to find a solution in the meantime. Thanks in advance!
@@OhHeyItsBilly I’ve owned it for several years and I agree the oven doesn’t heat evenly nor it the temp accurate. Idk how to fix it
@Jacksonoaks8 I've been scouring the internet, from Reddit to random forums and there's just absolutely nothing of how to calibrate the ovens temperatures. Seems like that would be a basic feature on such an expensive feature-rich range. Other ranges have oven temperature calibrations as standard and they're a fraction of the price.
@@OhHeyItsBilly idk it’s worked well for me for roasting and making the turns during cooking in oven. I think I just got a good working oven for the price I paid despite it not being professional 10-15k oven for the size
@@Jacksonoaks8 I absolutely love this oven from z-line, I just can't believe that the oven temperature cannot be calibrated that's such a standard feature on the other ovens.
Fantastic review
How is your Zline holding you after 2 years?
Great:)👍
@25:17 .... did you just use the words "Wolf" and "generic type brands" in the same sentence ? 🤣
I meant they are the more popular brands you come by when this style of range is discussed.
@@Jacksonoaks8 yes not judging you. I understand what you were trying to say
Thanks for the review, would you mind posting an update on this?
It’s a great stove. I haven’t changed my opinion about things. I still have same likes and dislikes. Customer service was good. I figured out how to change flame intensity per burner. Still super happy
Hi! Can you share an update on how you like it nowadays? :) has anything broken down?
Still works great and nothing has broken.
@@Jacksonoaks8I was thinking of getting this but reviews have me considering making a 60” inch by getting 2 very nice gas stoves instead. When I saw it done, it looked great. That way everything cooks evenly since the larger ranges tend to be less quality. Do you ever have both ovens going?
Is this the double convection gas ? And is it Dual fuel?
Where are your draw pulls? i am distracted by this
I went with a slightly different setup of ZLine products. I have the 48 inch gas cooktop built in the island. Cooking with gas can be challenging at times and takes getting used to. Having the different size burners like that was a new experience for me and takes some getting used to. Overall, I love my cooktop. Ended up going with the double wall oven. Haven't used both yet but that is coming this weekend. What I'm curious about is what is that opening at the back of the cooktop?
To turn on the oven without electricity, you know?
It was SO EASY to adjust the flame on each burner. So glad I found this video and the remedy in the comments below.
I have a couple of suggestions for you. Get one of those mats for the bottom of the oven for splatters and spills. They work wonders and makes for easier cleaning. It looks like you could take apart the oven door to clean that by just taking out a couple of screws. I'd call first and see if you could get it serviced by a technician or do it after your warranty is out. I think you could add a piece of oven gasket material there as well. If there is no gasket at the bottom either, you could get something to push or pull a rag through to clean it. Maybe some wire and a thin rag. You could even spray something in it too.
Zline saw this post and told me about a special tool they have to clean between the glass :) I’ll look into oven matts but elbow grease has worked well
I would swap out that griddle for another burner grate so you can place an oval dutch oven over it for stews.
Thank you. We agree with everything you said. Well done!
ALL of the burners can be adjusted to the lowest simmer possible. It comes with a special screwdriver that is used to adjust the flame. It has a yellow handle, and you turn the burner on, lower it to the lowest setting, and remove the knob. Insert the screwdriver into the hole in the hole in the center of the knob holder, turn the screwdriver until it you feel it fit into the adjustment screw. Then turn the screwdriver either counter-clockwise or clockwise, and you can adjust the simmer flame down as low as you like. If it gets too low, then the flame will go out. You just relight the eye, and adjust the flame back to the lowest level that will stay on. The instruction booklet walks you through on how to adjust each of your eyes. The oven may not be calibrated to the temp, but I bought a digital thermometer, and even the oven can be easily calibrated to the correct temp. I do bake a lot, and on any oven I have had, I always use a digital temp probe that connects to an external monitor. The front glass on your oven easily slips out for cleaning, so nothing is trapped in that cannot be removed. I have had Wolf & Viking ranges, and my Zline cooks just as well as those, but for less money. Please find you book that came with the range, and it will explain how to adjust your burners, and I have NEVER had any convection oven, gas or electric, that I did not have to rotate thing in the oven at the half way mark.
Zline sent me a tool to adjust burners and they work amazing now. They also told me about tool for between glass cleaning of the doors :) and I feel with the rotating. It doesn’t bother me I’ll look into a probe I just have a meat probe
I don't know why people use the big burner for low heat.the propose of smallest burner is for lower heat and maybe laboratory test tube.
When I have a giant pot of something I don’t like moving it around for diff heat levels. I prefer the big burner especially now that it has been adjusted to have a lower flame setting because it has two rings of flame for better spread of the heat on the bottom of a larger pan. Sometimes the small burner or even the large single burner isn’t as even on a large pot. But hey we can all cook how we prefer ;)
Are you still liking this oven?
Yes I’ve had it a few years and I love the cook top. The oven and the griddle aren’t the most even. But that’s my only complaints. I’m still happy it works even if I tend to rotate things in the oven.
Does the stainless steel cover on the front of your stove right below the doors get insanely hot?
No.
The fan you hear is not the round convection oven fan you hear, It is a squirrel cage fan to cool off the top of the oven because little to no insulation exist on topside so air is drawn on the top slit next to your back gas eyes - all the way across. The fan prevents your wires from being fried like the ignitors and it exahust just above the knobs. You can see all of this if you take off the top cover.
How do you clean the gaps on the stovetop of this range. I have the Zline and there are no instructions in the manual for how to get those little tiny food crumbs that get in the gaps on the stove.
It’s not easy. I use a cake poker with paper towel or like Lysol wipes.
Thank you
Good review, on the gap between the stainless and the cook top. I ended up buying automotive high temp 500+ degrees silicone gasket and put a bead all the way around.
I have the same one, the griddle sucks!!!! We need a class action lawsuit for a 7k range. It doesn’t heat evenly at all. Biggest mistake straying away my other brand
Aluminum burners hold up better
When I bought the brass package I still got the aluminum burners with the oven. It was the same price to get regular 48” and then pay for the aftermarket brass kit as buying the brass 48’’ ;)
Love the review Wish there were more like this! Real reviews without the glossed over corporate reviews. This really gives the review of after one year and what they go thru on regular wear and tear Thank you
Griddle doesn’t heat evenly. On mine I use the griddle to simmer towards the front. I have the dura snow finish,,, it it’s not good Love the look but that’s it.
My griddle also isn’t even.
So I have the 48 Takes forever ( even using the high bake ) to pre heat The back burns while front and middle raw Door hangs crooked… heats up kitchen !! So that could be a problem to these issues. But no help from zline It took literally 3 hours to bake 8 baked potatoes I’m so disappointed I was assured that this would fit my needs I cook I bake I can What’s a girl to do
Man I’m sorry mine isn’t that bad. Maybe something isn’t right with the door or the oven. Zline was helpful to me when they reached out to resend me stuff to adjust my burners. Maybe try emailing support or call someone to service the oven.
Any luck? I seriously had no service issues and I bake a lot and I just did a whole pan of roasted red potatoes in under an hour yesterday. There must be something wrong
I had 1 absolutely junk
So freemartins are intersexed cows?
i've heard that 36" ovens take forever to preheat. I think your big oven is a 36". Is this what you experience?
It’s not too bad as this one has a high heat or almost preheat setting

Anyone know if there’s a propane conversion kit?
Yes, there is. Mine is working well!
@@pamlewis911 how did you convert yours? Cant find anywhere how to convert it, i do have the orifice though.. do i have to do flip anything inside the regulator too and adjust the burner to lowest level or something?
Please tell us where you got that small halter! :)
I think this is the one in the video. That or tsc Derby Originals Adjustable Nylon Livestock Cattle Halters Available a.co/d/5QuVqsT
Thank you! I’m wondering about my heifer. My Bull tries to top her but she usually runs away.
Just an FYI to add to this, apparently they just did a MAJOR recall on many of these ovens!! "LINE has become aware that the oven component of select gas-on-gas ranges can emit dangerous levels of carbon monoxide (CO) while in use, posing a serious risk of injury or death from carbon monoxide poisoning." Please check your model and confirm this is not an issue with your model. The recall says all 48" regardless of color are. go to zline / recalls (For the double ovens recalled its models: RGB-48, RG48, RGS-48)
Mine is a duel fuel and isn’t on the recall. But ty for letting me know
So what was the outcome???? Is she or is she not???
She was breedable
Thank you for your honest review! Very helpful.
First off thank you for the detailed review because it’s one thing to be able to see it in person but another to know how it’s performed 6 months to a year later. From what I researched about the autograph 48in Zline is the uneven heating oven and griddle/skillet, and that theirs not a lot of service techs even in bigger cities that’ll agree to work on or service these. Which makes me somewhat hesitant I’m pretty handy but I read a lot of reviews from various sites where customers expressed several issues and not being able to go any distant of time without another or the same problem coming back around. I’m curious you mentioned you were consider Kutch and one other one. Did you not consider the GE Cafe? I’ve read some great reviews on it and has a few features like some vortex flame for cooktop feature. I personally think the Zline looks better than Cafe from the photos but maybe in person it’s different. Anyways your kitchen looks amazing and thanks again for your honest and detailed feedback. I appreciate it!
This was about $5000 and the cafe is I think almost 12k? That’s a huge price difference. I didn’t have a range over 8k in the budget. But you do get what you pay for. I like the range top on this but the oven is uneven cooking in the main oven.
The 48 zline im considering is 7k and the cafe one is on sale for just under 10k. It’s a lot of money either way most kitchens that much $$ is for all the appliances in it. Which makes it even more difficult to buy sight unseen lol. Yes I totally agree with you that you get what you pay for. I’ll probably do some more digging. Just surprised more haven’t posted reviews of these products. Appreciate you taking the time to do so.
@@primenwproperty I agree. I was very frustrated to not find many reviews or info on them. But I am happy with my Zline. It’s nice. It’s oven just isn’t quite what I hoped. I love the range too tho.
It looks absolutely gorgeous in your home. For sure it’s like who buys a car without driving it sorta thing. That’s definitely what point I’m at being frustrated and hoping I’m not kicking myself afterwards. Either way it’ll be better than the original 1969 retro orange range I ripped out. Moving on up either way lol.
Maybe you could put your brass in vinegar.
How powerful burners are? I need powerful burners
Just look up the btu on specs. I think it’s 18k for the big burners. I think it’s pretty damn hot
To clean between the edge and porcelain. Use a butter knife with the end covered with your damp dishrag and run it in the space.
Pick up a can of brass-o to clean the brass fittings
One more issue the big burner on the front left hand side will never light for me!!! It does how ever work for my wife??? Go figure, I have to use the click lighter.
The oven fan is so loud! You explained it very well, Thank You! For those reading this the fan makes it's noise and you can't get rid of it.
Thankyou for spending the time showing the zline. I couldn’t find any dealer that had it in the showroom.
