My father had a Triumph Speed Twin in maroon. This was in the 1940s / 50's. After we wre born, late1940s, he fitted a sidecar. I remember it well. He and my mother looked dashing on it in photos. In 1953 he bought a new Ford Anglia. My mother could drive, unusual for a woman in those days. I had no idea that the Speed Twin was a superbike, in its day, 500 cc, untill more recently.

I had the later model with the integral headlamp nacelle nearly 60 years ago, and I loved it. Nice engine, excellent handling - it just did everything well. This one looks and sounds gorgeous!

Well there may not have been a lot of gas in the bike, but there was definitely plenty of gas at 4 minutes 18 seconds…

DVLA claims this bike was registered in March 63. In which case you would expect to see it on an "A" plate, not the pre 1st Feb 63, no prefix plate if its totally original ? Beautiful bike though !

Probably my favourite bike of all time, wonderful long stroke machine! The father of a school mate of mine, back in the 70s, had 3 or 4 of these big slopers, some with Watsonian sidecars. When he came of age (17), my mate inherited one his dad's combinations and I vividly remember riding in the sidecar ....... it's always a pleasure to see one especially a runner.

I used to ride a '55 Model 100,same as this only different Teles on the front,and the exact same Headlight as the '55 model D Vincent.

Went to the Dragon Rally in 1963 with one of these in a box sidecar rapped up in sacks to keep warm with snow everywhere never missed a beat a real plodder
