How To Curl & Style Your Client's Hair
You don't need 30 volume developer to get from a lev 4 to a lev 7. I would infact start with 10 vol then, at the halfway point, mix up a new batch with 20 volume (sometimes end with 30 if i know it wont be much longer for the 1st few foils applied will be done soon.) and saturate well (saturation is key). maybe a little heat if needed but I don't usually need it. this preserve's the integrity of the hair and then the client doesn't feel like u just fried their hair. this plays side by side with consultation and making sure the clients expectations are not unreachable. inform your client that their desired blonde may not be achievable if they have level 4 colored hair and want a level 10-12 platinum. telling newbies to put 30 vol lightener on lev 4 hair to get to lev 7 just seems odd. newbies take longer. when going slower you go lower. low and slow is a golden rule of thumb in my book.
I think you are referring to using lightener. This video is about hair color, not bleach. So yes you would need to use 30 vol
@@opulentbeautypro correct. then in that case this needs to be specified that its virgin. because color doesn't lift color. most cases they are already prev colored
@alicegiffin487 it seem like you know quite a bit, maybe consider making your own video then with your vision. Again this is a basic beginners video.
I dont understand why people hold the microphone, it just looks silly and unprofessional.
@@Fakepoet-blue I’m not sure why people leave rude comments on other people’s videos, or why people even care what others do with their own content. But who am I to say 🤷🏼♀️😘
@opulentbeautypro it was a comment on an observation, it was in no way meant to be rude. Those microphones are meant to be clipped to a shirt, so it looks silly when it is not.
it's a good video, when I have my living room one day, I will apply this advice
glad we gave good advice
Spent over a year in school, I learned more in 9 mins with you.
So glad I could help

Can you explain this is more detail for me?

My hair is a level 89 I'm looking for a beautiful golden blonde with a tad of strawberry I was thinking of using Redken Shades color 8 gold dip with possible papaya trying to find that perfect golden blonde with a tad hint of strawberry I cannot seem to get it it's driving me crazy
I put a thumbs up 👍 on this video and it still shows 0
Super helpful thank you
"quit, you're garbage"

I’m definitely a little late, but this was very helpful and I’m extremely appreciative
Thank you this made a lot of sense
Thank you.
I love this….what if you don’t want to niche being I’m well rounded? And why is that frowned upon when we clearly went to school for cosmetology a field that is comprised with so much more than one haircut or one hair color?I feel like hair and fashion marries each other and why I can’t showcase the both. I feel like in today’s world we have to figure out how to stand apart from the millions of hairstylist on social media platforms. So I feel I need to do the both. I have made my mind up that I’m going to be a rebel and go against the norms like I have always done. It’s not easy out here today to build a community of people that believe in me (I’m going to speak for myself)without me having a huge following and I just put in my head I’m going to keep going and keep my head up and stay away from the herd.
Everything but a salon owner for me, girlfriend!! ❤

that's awesome, let's connect and check all our social media accounts on our BIO. thank you
Did you use permanent color for the lowlights?
I do recommend permanent with 10 vol
What curling iron are you using? Size of barrel? Thanks!
Bio ionic 1 1/4
Very helpful❤
Glad it helped you.
I have a red hair extension and I want a chocolate brown. Do I need to understand the level of red first?

Agree totally exactly
Thank you for this. I followed your instructions in this video, and did my own hair last night was shades EQ and it came out so good. I used shades EQ 09 and 0T10 and a cap full of 09GI and I was lifted to a 9.

This is the first video I've seen that actually explains why my toner turned out the way that it did. My natural color is a dark ashy blond and I bleached it at home starting with the back of my hair and working my way up. I think the underneath in the back over processed because it was beyond level 10, it was completely white which would've been ok, but the top front of my hair under processed and came out as yellow/tiny bit orangey 9 and the top and underneath didn't blend together well. I should've just bleached the top again, but the person at Sally's recommended a toner to even it out. I said I wanted a warmer blond, more towards gold than icy silver or the complete white that the underneath was. She said ION 9N "Very Light Blond" should get me there. It turned my hair brown, like a bronzey walnuty brown. There is no universe where the color could be considered anything close to "Very Light Blond" and it wasn't even close to the swatch at the store. I went back to Sally's and checked my hair against the swatches and it matched 7N. So, it seems like according to your video, it turned darker because it was a neutral and what I should've gone for was a bright blond. I don't understand why it was so off from the swatch though, because if I had known it would turn out this dark I wouldn't have done it. I guess I learned two lessons, do a strand test and don't take what Sally's associates say as the final word. I really don't like the color so I don't know if I should bleach it or do a bleach bath to get as much of this color out as I can and go over it with a different toner that's lighter? It's still lighter than my natural color, so I'm going to have to do something once my roots grow out.
Unfortunately toners will not lift color out. I would try a Malibu treatment or cpr treatment to remove the color you don’t want
@@opulentbeautypro Thanks I'll try those!
I have trouble with toning ! I understand everything you said but I just dont k ow what toner to pick . Im so confused! I lifted my sister to 6/7 shes on a orangy side more but idk what to stick on there!. ❤❤ !!
@@andreaflores7828 It depends on what she wants the final result to be. To start I applied Clairol Shimmer Lights toning mask to my hair 3 times to get it less orangy and it helped. I think it says to use on wet hair, but I got a more noticeable result when I put it on my dry hair. Make sure it's an even and thick application and leave it on for like an hour. If she still doesn't like the color, then consider a semi or demi permanent toner. The person at Sally's talked me into a permanent toner and I regret that, it's been really hard to wash out/fade the color at all. If your sister ends up not liking the semi or demi permanent color, it will be easier to fade out and if she does like it then you can probably get the same color in a permanent toner. I can't give any advice on what color to use since I just started experimenting myself, but based on my experience don't go with anything lower than level 7. I wish I had combined the tube of color toner with a tube of clear toner (it says it adds shine) to dilute the color and I don't think it would've come out as dark. Start small and non-permanent because you can always go back and add more color. Don't let Sally's, or wherever you go, talk you into starting with a permanent toner! Good luck!
How too lift a 7 too a 8 without bleach
Before hair school I literally have been trying to explain this to hair dressers for years!! Thank you for this
This video was more educational than my entire time in beauty school.
Glad I could help! Unfortunately most schools hire people who are not really equipped to teach. Education is so important.
Same 😢
I’m going lighter from a 6 to 8 on 100 percent fine hair .. so I would use 8na with 30 vol for 25 minutes..
It really depends on the result you want and what color line you are using.
This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my RUclips channel 6 months ago about self development. Now I have 425 subs and > 100 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessonsÀ we that I couldn’t have learned without getting started in the 1st place.
Love this 🖤
@@opulentbeautypro Thanks so much! I realized that the main reason for doing this is not about the success but the inspiration I've been providing some people with my stories while helping others do the same as I shared the lessons & experiences through making videos to have a sense of meaningful purpose. Therefore, I’m planning to quit nursing to pursue youtube full time as there are lots of issues in our traditional health systems as these don’t align with my values. It’s a huge learning curve but I love helping people through making videos. Also, as part of my video creation progress, I’m switching to a better editing software and a camera so the learning curve is much higher and slows down the completion speed of my next videos so please hang on tight! I do appreciate your support and kind words! I am hoping that you can join me with this endless personal development journey! :)
