Beautiful tribute to your dad my friend
Thanks for watching and leaving the comment. I appreciate it!
Love old nostalgic baseball cards stories.
Nostalgia....that's a big part of why we collect. Glad you stopped by and commented!
Thank you for sharing memories and your cards.
Thanks for stopping by and watching! I appreciate the comment too!
@aerograd what is really amazing, I received my first Mickey Vernon card in the mail today. Just found your video and gave it a watch. Great stuff my friend. Funny how the world connects the dots sometimes.
Cheers to Your dad and you too.
Nice cards You and I have the same taste in terms of cards from the 1960’s..
Thanks for watching. 1960s cards were the easiest entry into vintage when I started getting into that era in the late 80s. I'm working on so many sets from that decade that it's hard to focus though.
Great Pre-War cards and memorabilia! Congratulations! Sounds like you are a long-time collector! Thanks for sharing your collection!
Thanks Rick! Been collecting since 1985 and got into vintage within a couple of years of that. When I went to college I started focusing more on T206s and other pre-war, but eventually came back to Golden Age 50s-60s and now collect across all of those eras. Appreciate the comment!
@@aerograd Thanks Donnie, great strategy! Good Luck working on the T206’s!
Awesome vid! Nostalgia is the best! Keep it going! 🤛🏻
Thanks for watching and I appreciate the comment!
Thanks for the kind words! I really appreciate it! Great shoutouts! Good luck on picking up the Banks!! Its a great card! Thanks for participating!
Nice video and great shoutouts. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks so much for the shoutout. That’s so nice of you and really appreciate it. Love the goal card and story that comes with it. I hope you find an amazing Banks rookie!
Hi Donnie 👋 As a kid I never had the Beckett but it didn't stop us from dreaming about baseball cards we didn't have. Love the episode .
Started collecting cards in 1969 but as an adult we were fascinated with the Beckett.
Thank you for the comment and for watching! I am jealous of the collectors who came before me and got started in the 1960s and earlier.
Great first video , welcome to the community. Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm for our hobby !
How much time did we spend flipping through Beckett magazines. Deciding which cards to put into a hardcover. - Doing this in between Nintendo games and homework. A great time to be a kid in America.
Ahh Nintendo. I wish I would have kept mine and all the games. Those are quite collectible these days too. Thanks for watching!
The Rickey Henderson rookie was a card I thought I would never have as a kid also.
I looked at so many Henderson RCs at various shows over the last few years. Finally I found one at a card shop and decided to pull the trigger. Happy I did! Thanks for watching!
Great stuff
Great cards, thanks for sharing
Thanks Orlando! I appreciate you dropping the comment!
Great video! I can relate to all these cards. They were ones I didn’t think I’d ever own. These were some of the first cards I picked up when I got back into the hobby. Another one for me was the 82 traded Ripken. I was finally able to get it a few months ago and was super excited! Take care!
Oh yes, the '82T Traded Ripken is a big one and still a want for me. Did you get an ungraded or graded one?
Great idea for a video! Well done.
Thanks again for watching and the comment! I watched you on the Collector 2 Collector episode on 4 Collectors recently. I really enjoyed it as well!
😮
Thanks for watching! I am subscribed to your channel. I mostly watch while driving to/from work, so it's hard for me to comment right away, but will continue to check out your videos.
Wow I enjoy the way you collect! Will be catching up on your videos. Glad to have connected!
Thanks for watching. I'm always looking to connect with other vintage collectors!
Man this project must have gotten expensive for you... sounds like you started a long time ago when things were a little more reasonable
I started collecting T206 off backs in the early-mid 1990s. The Carolina Brights and Brown Hindu backs were bought around 1999 off of eBay. I still pick up off backs today, but you're right they have went up in price significantly in the last 10 years.
@@aerograd I got a couple dozen sovereign when I was a kid with my dad in early nineties. Still have them and love them
Incredible deal!!!!
Thanks for watching. Maybe someday I will have one of those "Finds of a Lifetime" too.
Cool! Lots of great cards!
Thanks for watching and the comment! I can't wait until the next Nash-ional!
Wow! Awesome pickups, especially the Mick and Hank! Congrats!!!
Thanks for watching. I think the '67T Mantle is next up on the Mantle run for me.
Nice set. I'm currently working on a '67 set in good to very good grade it's a lot of fun. I'm thinking about starting a '34 Diamond Kings set that would be a beater set.
A diamond kings set in low condition would be fun. Go for it!
NIce set need a better card #128. I'm slowly working on 1960 & 1961 Topps sets.
I'm also working on the 1960 Topps set, but probably in VGEX condition or so. I am around 90% done with it, so getting close. As soon as I knock out the last few from my 1965 Topps set I am going to focus on 1960 and finish it. Thanks for watching!
Love the grabs! Love the glove in the background
I found the glove at the Amish flea market near me for $20. It's a Hugh Mulcahy model from the 1940s I think. I'm always on the lookout for old gloves at antique stores, yard sales and flea markets.
@@aerograd that was a great find!
Great idea! Set building is fun. Inspires me to work on a beater set from my birth year (79)
A '70s beater set would be interesting. Maybe the 1971 Topps since it's so hard to get those in nice condition anyways? Might have to add that one to my list.
Nice!! I, of the beater set building federation, stand with you and applaud this set. I have built many beaters. Currently working on 1952 topps low series. When I say I will take any condition.....have some cards that look like they were owned by Edward Scissorhands. Keep it up!!!!
1952 Topps is a strong candidate for my next beater set. Some other possibilities are 1948 or 1949 Bowman, '33 Delong, 1921 Exhibits... will be difficult to choose for sure.
Great first video!! Love the T206 cards. Hope to meet you at the National. Dave
I wish I was going to the National this year, but unfortunately will miss it. Maybe next year, although my priority is to go to Strongsville. Thanks for the sub and comment!
Congrats on the pickups!
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful collection. Keep up the videos!
Thanks for the positive feedback! More videos are coming... more slowly than I'd like, but I'm still learning this. I hope to start pushing out some shorter ones more often within the next week or two, so stay tuned.
You’re targeting some great cards. Best of luck! I’ve subscribed.
Thank you! I will post a video of what I pick up hopefully by Monday morning.
