My restored faith in humanity. My daughters dad was in hawaii for work and wanted me to bring our daughter to him so he could still see her. The flight is 8-9 hours one way. On the way back my kiddo was not happy. Qnd i ended up breaking down shes crying im crying it was a red eye lay over flight so half way is when i lost it. Im alone im crying and my daughters crying n then a lady walks up to me. The most social interaction ive had other then with employees. She buys angel an apple juice an some crackers and says itll get better i promise an she just left. It was the first time i ever been on a plane ever left my state an ever went to hawaii let alone doing it all myself. Any time i pray i pray shes having an ok life shes not the help i wanted but the help i needed. I was convinced i was just a shit mom because i couldnt fly to another state with my crying child everybody is looking with judgey eyes it was horrble. So this lady who never gave me her name was my light in the dark

The mayor hired a janitor to hang a girl in the schools basement years ago because he was persuing her, graped her and she threatened to tell. Quite a few…. Grapists (not the mayor sadly) were “mysteriously” found unalive. Everyone knows the family who did it, a group of brothers. The family is still “locally famous” in a positive light. Nobody reported them even though its well known amongst locals. (And I agree imo) when my husband was in HS from 2011-2015, the female coach gave teen boys keys to her home. When her husband wasnt home shed invite them over for sex on a regular basis. Id have reported it myself but shes no longer there, I have no proof or all of the names. (Its complicated I grew up there but didnt go to school there) But I remember my husband telling me all about it. Our current mayor is also known for money laundering to fund tearing down all of the historical mansions/homes/businesses so he can build duplexes. The FBI investigated but came up with nothing (no surprise) we also have pretty bad issues with child trafficking rings in our town that nobody will openly admit, even though the FBI (again useless) have been here MANY times, and have had many assemblies at the schools to report such things. The FBI really is useless im telling you. And a couple years ago over 1/2 of the school staff was “silently retired” for again money laundering, smuggling drvgs to students, ignoring life threats and even recording flghts amongst students without reporting it. A TON of people moved here during the pandemic because small towns had far lesser restrictions and they realized if they sold their large house in the city, they could buy a mcmansion here on the lake. Then proceeded to buy up all of the smaller properties to become slumlords, tripling the rent prices and quadrupling house sale prices. So locals can never hope to buy a home in our town. There are NO high income jobs within over an hour of us unless you get invited highly unqualified as a nepo hire. Not so much a secret, but I hate the city folk that fckd our town too, theyre just as terrible imo. Were doing fine, but the locals that came from here? None of them have a chance of thriving anymore.

That fucking dog one made me tear up losing my dog couple years ago in a messed up unexpected way. She saved my life getting me through cancer twice oddly enough first time before 30 like the story right after the one in this video. Coincidence is weird.

TL;DR: successfully drove across the state to meet my long distance girlfriend about a month after getting my license; didn't have toll money; got a parking ticket; and my mother didn't find out til 6 months later after some asshole at the toll office sent a bill in the mail because they hadn't marked it off as paid. Lost my phone and keys for 20 and 60 minutes respectively as a "punishment", which was quickly reversed because it inconvenienced her more than me. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️😂 When I was between my junior and senior years of high school, I had a car and a long distance gf who lived on the other side of the state from me (like Buffalo suburb to Queens distance). We were deep in our puppy love and wanted desperately to meet in person. She saved up money and sent it to me in the mail and I told my momma I was spending the weekend with my BFF, helping rearrange her room. I then took off to meet my "true love". I had put the address in my phone and it routed me mostly through Pennsylvania but that didn't seem right to me so I decided to take the interstate straight across NY. I ran out of gas and money not far from my destination and my check engine light came on and my car developed a shake (turned out it needed new spark plugs and it was consuming gas faster as a result). I was at a rest area with a gas station and food place, pitifully staring under the hood, trying to figure out what to do since my credit union debit card wouldn't let me overdraft my account at the ATM when a middle-aged man approached, trying to help. I told him I was stuck an hour from my destination with no money and he gave me $20, which I tried to ask for his address to return but he said declined saying he'd hope someone would help his daughter were she in my shoes. So, I made it to my exit and got off, nervous af because I had no toll money. The worker gave me a bill and info on how to pay it. I was incredibly stressed but made it to my girl, who was in Manhatten for school, and we spent the afternoon together, even getting a little freaky in the backseat of my tiny car. While we were first meeting and walking up the street, I got a ticket for parking in front of a hydrant I didn't notice because I was too stressed, nervous, and excited to see her. So now I had a $115 parking ticket to pay plus a $15 toll bill. She gave me the money to get home, though I once again ran out of gas because of the worn out spark plugs and another kind man helped me out. I managed to get home with the gas light on for the last 10 miles. My gf paid my ticket and toll and we were golden.... Until 6 months later when the assholes at the toll office sent me my bill again, in the mail, having not marked off that I'd payed it. My mother was pissed, wanting to know how I'd gotten such a high toll and what had happened and initially I lied and said my friend and I had gotten on the thruway by mistake in Rochester and Buffalo a couple times with no money, but she knew that wouldn't cost $14. Eventually she asked if I'd gone to NYC and I said yeah. She asked why and I said to see my gf. She told me she was taking my keys and phone. I got my phone back 20 minutes later because she realized she neither paid for the phone or the bill so she had no right to take it. Then an hour later she gave my keys back, saying she was checking my mileage and I was to go only to school, work, and PT. 20 minutes later she asked me to go to the store for her. She checked my mileage once, that day, and never again and things went completely back to normal with me basically coming and going as I pleased. I got very lucky but since we moved from MS to NY when I was 9, we made multiple cross-country trips so I knew what precautions to take to stay as safe as possible.

I saw a 20yr old jump off a bridge when I was in college and was about 15ft away from where he hit pavement on a trail. I was walking a trail and saw the moment he jumped 300ft down and I can hear the impact like it was yesterday. It fked me up for awhile, but I knew if I told them they’d wanna move me home and get me help. The impact sounded like a whip cracking by my ears and he was unrecognizable due to the way he landed. I never understood PTSD until that moment and now I fear the sight of bridges
