You will be running the 3-3-5, and with that, Tahj, and more than likely our TE's should have a field day. Your DC can watch all the game tape he wants, but he more than likely wont see the same formations with the same plays, bc Kittley will use different formations, but *maybe* run the same route pattern. Sometimes 1, or 2 guys will run different route concepts. So what your DC saw on game tape last week, or the week before wont be the same as this week against Cincy. In fall practice, Tech was installing 60 new plays every day in practice...it is a VARIED offensive system. We might have 3 TE's on the field at the same time, or we might go 5 wide...2 backs in the back field, 1 back with 2 TE's in the backfield, or only Tahj back there. Tech has 2 true freshmen to back up Tahj, and they are both good. Cam Dickey, and J'koby Williams (he may not play much...maybe 3, or 4 snaps, though). Tech's 5* freshman WR (Micah Hudson), hasnt seen the field that much, bc that's how good the other wideouts are. And, plus, Cincy hasnt left the State of Ohio yet this season...correct? LoL. And to go in to Lubbock, at night, as their first true road game...not ideal.

Okay...everyone says "Not a lot of defense...", and if you strictly go by the numbers...they arent good. Tech has been playing a TON of RS Soph, and below in the secondary, and DL. A lot of those guys were former 4* HS recruits who are seeing action for the first time. These guys are basically Joey's guys when he was first hired on, and there are some growing pains to get them adjusted, but DeRuyter is a very good DC, and they have been improving since the first 2 weeks. These guys are very talented, but also very inexperienced. Against ACU, their HC was a former Tech DC, the QB was a former Tech QB, and ACU had something like 4 former Tech guys on offense who got processed out. Our #1 CB was out that game, and had a kid playing his first snaps ever as a RS Soph...and think the lights were a bit too bright (or big) for him....and he just kept getting picked on all night. Haha...and the ASU podcast guys were ALL saying the same thing...ASU guys thought Scattabo was gonna go off in that game, and he basically had 1 good play for 66 yds on a screen pass.

UC has moved conferences so many times that these rivalries you talk about don’t hold that much weight to the fan base. I think we manifest them into something bigger because we crave stability. They didn’t even bring out the Paddlewheel trophy on Saturday. The Pitt vs UC “rivalry” was started by the Big East as schools started to leave and to bring more viewers. Very similar to WVU today. Miami hasn’t mattered in 15 years, Louisville is gone for now. I think the only real rivalry beef UC has right now is with UCF, and that’s still very infant.

It’s just so strange that the “turnover” excuse kept coming up on this pod over and over when X literally has 10 new players and 3 of them arrived in the summer and barely speak English

But to be fair to the Bearcats, you were going up against one of the greatest dynasties, (A blue blood program). So be happy that we only scored 20, albeit with refs help. So congrats on holding us to 20. Also the Dillon Gabriel you saw on the field is not the same Dillon Gabriel at UCF. He is a great QB, he just wasn't developed under the right coaching staff. Jeff Lebby saw his potential and developed him to the great QB he is now.

Oh please! Go back and with a realistic mind watch the game as a whole. Cincinatti would have lost by at least 21 because of the lack of calls for Cinci's penalties alone! There were so many penalties not called on a team that usually has 7-8 penalties called on them. Oklahoma should have won bigger and would have won bigger, if not for the obvious penalties not called on Cinci. Come on only two penalties? LMFAO! You held Oklahoma to 20 not by your own doing but by the refs doing. Go watch a full replay and accept that Oklahoma would have steam rolled you. But that is what Big 12 refs are doing to both Oklahoma and Texas at this point, out of spite. Just makes me wonder how the RRS is going to be this weekend. I am glad to be leaving the Big 12. Boomer Sooner!
