​@@artkochnev I tried to follow melody with my guitar. I think i've found most of the notes, but, of course, i'm missing a lot of small details to get it right. Apart from that - CHORDS. Goddamn i'd like to play both chords and melody together!...haha Welp, following and understanding the melody will allow me to figure out some chords, but then naming those, considering the modal changes (I do feel like there's some amount of shifting between, but i'm by no means a musican). And the fact that you can name any chord with lots of names is making it all a mess. Anyway, trying to figure out what You play is really good when it comes to practicing my ear, so thanks for that :D I honestly doubt i'll figure most of it, but it doesn't matter. As long as I can improve my ear by catching melodies and chords it gets easier with next song. Also, if I stick and try to figure out the song for couple days, i might as well just write out the chords and notes You are playing.

@@varesin2978 that's true dedication! You are right: there are some quirks in playing the piece but for a person who uses the term modal changes, they should be manageable. Here is some help: The key for the most part - both Main theme and Vista point sections - is in C natural minor. Most of the chords stay within the scale: Cm, Ab, Gm, Eb, Bb (main theme), Vista point introduces Fm at 01:10. The first shift in key happens with the theme from Gothic 2: you play a continuously slowing Cm arpeggio (aka ritardando), and closer to the end you need to pivot to E scale. I do this by playing C-Eb-F at 01:32 in the Cm. For a while you sit on 4 notes in the melody (C#, Eb, F, F#) and Bb and Ebm in the chord section. Then you need to return back to the Cm key. I again rotate using an arpeggio. This time I play Emb and hit A to get some dissonance. From there resolve to Gm chord and then pivot back to Cm, which brings you back to the key of the main theme with the final section. The final section has some variation compared to the opening section but the chords are the same. Hope it helps!

@@artkochnev Thank You for help! I knew it was C natural minor scale, but i didn't know what was the other one. Also, you definitely saved me some time with writing those chords. Knowing it's C minor I can build each and every chord, but figuring out which chords are actually used is bit tricky sometimes. It's gonna take me quite some time to fully comprehend what You just wrote - knowing the chrods is one thing. Knowing how to play them is another and I'll work on that. First I think I'll start with finding right spot on the neck for the chord inversions. Huh...maybe i'm gonna learn something valuable here thanks to You :D I'll see how it goes, maybe in couple days, weeks, months - who knows - I will be able to play it how I want. And then maybe i'd share my take on that with You if it's good enough, since You helped me. To be honest, from July to October I'll have plenty of time and my goal during that time is to extend my understanding of music by dissecting some song all by myself, kinda like a project. But just in case you're looking for something close to the original SW soundtrack, you might want to check the original SW Jedi Survivor OST, it's really great in following the John Williams' spirit

The game was a total blast for me when it came out. But even if I count all things now it sounds impressive: an absolutelly beautifully crafted story with the main storyline branching into 4 by the middle of the game, multiple side-quests with memorable characters, naval battles with multiple ships and weather changes, freedom of travel, and orchestral soundtrack. Phew! The Russian version also had an outstanding voiceover cast, which sadly wasn't the case for the English version, which I find dull at best. Sounds impressive even by current standards and imagine how powerful it was in 2000 when all that was for for the first time! So long story short, the game is still in my heart and would love to see a proper remake!
