She does not apologize because she is not guilty. Adoption records were frequently falsified on both Boston and elsewhere in the US. It takes a court order to open them . False birth certificates were common and replaced the names of birth parents with those of adoptive parents, one or both.

Never saw this dance flavored episode before! I wonder whether Pete ever included squaredancers, New England contradancers or Appalachian flatfooters on the program? Brother Mike Seeger and dance-ethnographer Ruth Pershing did their "Talking Feet" flatfooting & clogging documentary more than a decade later... now at Smithsonian folkways.

So sorry that this show only ran for less than 2 dozen episodes, as every one is a treasure of homespun music history. June Carter was so humble, respectful & sweet. And, if not for her, Johnny would probably have drank himself to death long before he actually died.

I was so fortunate to meet both Mimi and Richard when they came over to Cynthia Williams home right after their (1965) concert at Big Sur. Richard was kind enough to let me hold and play his dulcimer, but it was Mimi who held everyone's attention. She was just lovely, positively glowing. It was clear how happy and in love she was. To my young self she seemed like an angel. And those around her basked in her glow. That is how I'll always remember that remarkable young woman. I talked with Pete years later at Clearwater about her, and that is how he said he remembered her as well. Rest In Peace Mimi, R.I.P. Richard and R.I.P. Pete. We wish you all could have stayed with us longer.

Thank you so much for sharing your remembrance of one of the great couples of our time. Richard’s talent is obvious but Mimi’s is more subtle but just as important. Their attraction to each other is evident in their performances. Mimi’s guitar accompaniment speaks for itself and the smiles say so much about their love for each othe😮r. Mimi would carry on a few solo albums and one with Tom Jan’s titled “Take Heart” that is definitely worth a listen. She also was a big part of the Bread and Roses Festival before her unfortunate passing.

You should know that in the US where she was raised that adoption papers were regularly falsified . This is not Buffys fault . She is the opposite of a lier and as for the brave and indigeonous US and Canadian soldiers whose precous blood was used to boost the stock market the stock market so much in all world wars are at it again through character assasination . The indian soldiers fought so well for them because it was their reservation home they quite naturally wanted to defend because it was all they had and its so very sad because they had no real choice either. No more indigeonous blood spilled for Wall Street. Thank you Buffy.❤

The key word is "seems" . Im glad I saw past the feeble attempt at character assasination of this amazing songwrier with so much beautiful heart and soul. It is so easy it " seems" to manipulate people with half truths . Birth records in the US ,including adoption records from Canada were frequently falsified in US birth certificates to " protect the child" which it did not, and in some cases just the mother, by hiding the facts. She( Buffy) looks about as Italian as Geronimo, make-up notwithstanding.
