Sorry, but that's not at ALL what Alex is DOING!- HE is GENTLY strumming a CLEAN electric and an acoustic guitar, during the VERSES, where Geddy is singing gently, "I know it's most unusual, to come before you so"... THEN, during the CHORUS, when Geddy screams "Yes we know, it's nothing new- it's just a waste of time!" - THAT'S when the distorted Power chords come IN, and then it's back to Gentle strumming for another verse... the way YOU'RE playing it, I can't TELL if you're playing the right notes or chords, because it's SO distorted it just drowns out everything else!.. Why don't you just use some Gentle Overdrive, for the screaming parts, then back off on your volume knob some and make ithe guitar CLEAN UP, for the verses... THAT'S what the professionals do, unless they have a distortion pedal on the floor that they can just step on and off which would be the RIGHT way to do it.. ALSO, the clean strummed versus have phase shifter and chorus on them... (A Professional)
