you are in a good spot, just walk up to that tree down in the water, they lay at the end of the tree, I come 600 miles to fish in Cherokee each year for 10 days.. I fly fish hope to see you one day..
Plopper
This happened to me . Every time at a quarry back in the summer months. Only at a certain spot . I would get at least six bass that were 3 lbs or more....no more than 10 feet or less from the bank.
Love the video love Gatlinburg want to get up there this spring and fish that spot I've seen it before from the bridge top and just knew they was there.
That swamp side,all tell,me have caught nice bass on that side.

Some is catch and release and most is catch and keep the limit is 10 per day
If you go trout fishing in Cherokee North Carolina you better know all the laws. Make sure it is in writing don't ask someone what you are allowed to do or not allowed . They will not remember the conversation. They have no signs at fishing location's with rules of law . Location's are not clearly marked , starting points or ending points where you can or cannot fish . They will explain it after they give you a nice big fine and court date . I am disappointed and I can't afford the risk to go back . Fishing there is a lot like going to the casino you have a good chance of losing your money . By Will
You can ask for a map that clearly tells you where you can and can’t fish, that’s what we did
While I 100% agree that you should know the laws before going, I have to disagree that fishing there is like "going to a casino". I am planning on making my first trip In Oct. The visitcherokee website has a list of all of the rules, the permits needed, the prices you pay for each violation, and a map of what waters that are open/closed, catch and release only, etc.
@@blakevenableoutdoors9474Good luck , your correct about the map . There is much more you need to know . Look on RUclips at angler's that got a ticket . You will not get a booklet that clearly spell's out all Fishing regulations like we do from our home state fish and game .

Yessir you can keep 5 a day

I’m sick of the regular salmon eggs falling off. That fire egg looks durable so I’ll get some. Cool video man!
@@TangoCowabunga I caught multiple fish on one egg they are very durable.. if the fish will hit them I’d use them all day everyday but some days for some reason they want real eggs lol so I keep some of both on me for that reason

@@blakevenableoutdoors9474 Oh dont worry! You can hear it in that young mans laugh and you can see it in his face at the end while holding it! He'll be lookin' foward to doing it again and again! Just be sure to instill it into him that when he has one of them days when he dont catch a thing that " a bad day fishing is still better than a good day at work"!👍🏻

Goddamn that’s a fun catch bro. I’ve tried using frog a few times, get hits, but can never set the hook. I prefer using top water with treble hooks for that reason. But I think I’m just a shitty fisherman
Thanks for the comment man, When fishing with a top water from after you get a strike wait about 2 second before you set the hook it gives them time to take the bait deep enough to get hooked!

I had a very similar situation one time, I threw a buzz bait into a bunch of structure buddy exploded on it but I missed the hook, three back in and sure enough caught him.

You don’t need guides. Gatlinburg has an amazing stocking program! Any river that’s got water in it in gatlinburg, will hold trout. Drive up and down behind the strip and find you a spot

Great stuff! I’m going up Friday night. Hoping to fish with my kids. Can you pretty much fish anywhere through town except for the kids only section? Should we take our waders?
Hey thanks Adam! You can go to Smokey mountain angler or the visitor center in town and get a map that shows where you can and can’t fish if they have any left. The large majority of downtown is open to everyone and is stocked by the hatchery, I would recommend finding pools close to bridges because that’s where they dump the fish.. as for waders I just Wade in some crocs or flip flip flops this time of year because it’s so hot outside the water feels great but that’s just my personal preference, good luck and let me know how you do!
